  • Kubrick's most underrated and one of my all time favorite films.

  • my only wish for this movie is that instead of innuendo I could have watched peter and sue make out

  • preferisco quello di adrian lyne

  • one of my all time favorite movies......LOVE James Mason & Peter Sellers so over the top performance.....and Sue Lyon was perfect as Lolita.....thanks for this great video!!!

  • Shelley Winters-James Mason. Two big stars. But you should have included the classic laughing scene when James read Shelley's letter.

  • i love all of lolita's clothes!

  • GreaT MOVIE, AND CAMERA OBSCURA IS A GREAT FUCKING ARTIST!

  • Vladimir Nabokov was a master of language and mood.

  • Great video. "Lolita" is the best film I`ve ever seen. I also enjoy the novel very much. The remake of the film sucks, even though Jeremy Irons is one of my favorite actors as well... but James Mason is the only real Hum... :) Sue Lyon is one lucky lady to have starred with him in this film. :)

  • Sue Lyon is the ultimate jail bait. and they can go ahead and lock me up...

  • great movie

  • I'm a big fan of "Lolita" and now I'm a fan of Camera Obscura.

  • Great movie.

  • she is hot

  • Love this! 5/5

  • I Just Watched This Film For The First Time Tonight And Thoroughly Enjoyed It

One Of The Legendary Stanley Kubrick's Best Films In My Opinion, And One Of Shelley Winters Best

  • Sue Lyon and I were born in the wrong time

  • anyone knows the name of the song?? thank you:)

  • teenager from camera obscura

  • thank you!!!!:)

  • Really great movie; beats the newer version a thousand times in my opinion. The acting alone was exceptional; and Peter Sellers, gee, he really was perfect in this role.

  • the poetic language used was probably the most shocking thing about this book.

because if someone was speaking as plainly as i am now, who would ever even consider arguing for humbert's case? the language disguises what it really is: disgusting.

making it one of the powerful books i've ever read.

  • This song goes so perfectly with Lolita! I love the book and now I'm in love with this song- very retro type sound. Thank you for this video!

  • Tremendous acting all the way around. Sue Lyon was a natural for the part and James Mason was spectacular as was the too often over looked Shelley Winters. Peter Sellers does quite well too as the 'sleaze'.

  • great vid! i love this movie and the song here is nice.

  • the story itself is sick. "Lolita is so beautiful!" yes, the actress is...But come on, people... > >

  • what is sick about it? prude

  • Isn't it obvious? Oh come on, the author INTENDED it to be sick, people on here aren't really doing the book or film any justice by denying that fact, it's good because it IS sick.

  • there saying that a 14 year old girl, having a sexual reltonship with a 30 something year old man is sick, they acting is great and all but its about phedolpilia, so sick is a good word to describe it.

  • prude.

  • that doesn't make me a prude. believe me i am far from it. a child having sex with a 30 something man, isn't ok, thats a pretty well known fact and most people agree. its not prudish at all, nice try. i like the movie, i like the actors, i actually like the newer version better, that doesn't mean i condone what they are doing.

  • I know exactly how you feel. I'm really drawn to the movie and the book but at the same time it's like "just because this is considered a work of art doesn't make it ok". I suppose whats so surprising about the story is humbert is the one who ends up as the real victim so rather than her being in his power he's in hers.

  • The story is a masterpiece of modern literature. It isn't meant to be porn.

Moreover, the actress that you're ranting about was 14 when she stared in Kubrick's Lolita. So, I think that you criticism of Nabokov's magnum opus has more than a hint of projection.

  • This is the most adorable thing I've had ever seen! Lolita is so beautiful and the song is breath-taking. I think the original movie of Lolita is better because it's less vulgar than the 1997 one.

  • agreed, but the book is even more vulgar than the 90s film so either way the book has been heavily sensored.

  • But I think the language makes the subject very poetic. I mean from the book no one would get lustful. Well I didn't. Sometimes it even was very uninteristing.

  • I also prefer this Lolita film. Because Lolita is in this one more beautiful. But I think the second one shows more like Humbert and Lolita really live together. I mean actually the story is vulgar and in the book Humbert says that Lolita is dumm and very teenaged and vulgar.

  • What is the name of this song? It's really cute ♥

  • Did the band take their name from another Nabokov novel; 'Laughter in the Dark'/'Kamera Obskura'?

  • i wanna watch this!

i like black/white videos better cause the content is cleaned up, unlike nowadays.

  • I love Lyon, Kubrick, and Camera Obscura -- this is a pretty good video 4 me. :D

  • sue doesn't play Lolita... she IS lolita

  • The simple image of Sue Lyon kicking her shoes off is just, how would Humbert put it? "eerily vulgar." This movie said so much with so little. Kudos to Kubrick and Nabokov.

  • Thanks for posting Maggie. I just love Sue Lyon...

  • What's the song playing in the background?

    Is it Broadcast?

  • It's "Teenager" by Camera Obscura.

I love Lolita! Great tribute! :-)

  • bello!

  • luz de mi vida, fuego de mis entrañas. Mi pecado, mi alma...

    encantador =)

  • to be honest i have never heard of it and i don't even know how i found this but i enjoy it allot!

  • THANKS!

  • Sue Lyon should've made more movies she was fantastic in this. i like the song a lot. ;)

  • Sue in fact plays "Lolita" a second time a short time later. well, actually it's "Charlotte," but it's the same exact type of character. she's a teen Lolita-type femme fatale mercilessly driving Richard Burton out of his mind, in Tennessee Williams' fabulous film: NIGHT OF THE IGUANA

    [equally disturbing, guaranteed.]

  • I agree; that's a great film esp. Ava Gardner

  • It's wonderful... *sniffle*

    Great movie, lovely girl...

I didn(t like that Humbert guy, though.

And I wonder what happened to Sue lyon, she must be around sixty years old by now...

  • google her

  • oh this is great! i love the original movie and the book, haven't seen the remake but want to soon. i wish there were clips of it on youtube

  • Oh but there are.

  • \O/ THANK - Uuuuu :]

  • Sem dúvidas LOLITA é um dos melhores filmes que já vi e o livro mais fascinante que já li...adorei conhecer estas cenas originais e amei esta musica qual o nome dela ?

  • Teenager by Camera Obscura

  • delightfully misleading combination.

  • Isn't it though? lol

  • That was very good. I'm reading Lolita for the 2nd time, and it's also one of my favorite movies (the original, even though I really liked the remake and the remake is actually closer to the novel).

  • coool :) what's the song's name?

  • Teenager by Camera Obscura :-)

  • awesome :)
