I've travelled using the Scandinavia, the drivers I freaking crazy, I couldn't sleep during the journey because I thought we might drive off a cliff. They say they drive fast so that they don't get stopped by bandits.
I traveled constantly between Tanga, and Dar and saw lots of crashes. Our driver would travel at 160 KM and yet buses passed us. Imagine the speed at which they traveled
Yes, the busdrivers are driving like H... I dont know why, the petrol is expensive so they could sawe a lot of money if they slow down a bit.. poli poli
Also, the lumber in the ditch came from a truck after the accident that barreled through blaring his horn. There were 20 people in that ditch, including myself, that scrambled out just in time as the truck lost its load, saving it from overturning.
I have been involved in a bus accident which involved Scandinavia...People it is not the safest bus out there, but please urge the drivers to go slower once your in the bus..even bribe them if you must, but you will reach to your destination to see your loved ones.GOD BLESS
I was on the Scandinavia bus and we were facing two passing trucks that could not resolve who was going to back off. The Scandinavia Bus driver took a position in the center of the highway and forced the two trucks to the side of the road and we went between them. The accident occured because the Shabibi line bus behind us did not slow down. Scandinavia is the best bus company in Tanzania, unfortunately, the highways are not as safe as they should be.
