RIP. Snooks was one of a kind. I was lucky to hear him a bunch of times. One of the things that makes me saddest about his passing is never being able to feel the vibe at one of his shows again. He was like a UN peacekeeping mission. Everybody, young/old, black/white/green, rocker/blues lover, whatever was just happy. You'd look around the room and see smiles and joy everywhere. His musicianship blew me away, but beyond that I love how he used it to bring people together and give them joy
I remember Alexis Corner, a DJ with soul in his blood, playing a Snooks song on his radio show back in the 70s in the UK -- "Funky Malugena" (spelling?). It is the most accomplished soulful guitar piece ever. I still have it now on cassette tape. That was the moment I fell in love with Snooks. God bless you Snooks. I bet you still have your guitar with you now. From the Guru with love.

I saw Snooks on my first visit to New Orleans. Was the highlight of the trip and a life changer. RIP to the genius human jukebox.
