two serious questions that i have that i hope someone can answer for me: in what why could bush have done away with roe v. wade in 2001? did congress thrust that power into his lap? if so, how did they do it? second, where is john mccain on record saying he would no want to do away with roe v. wade? baldwin is probably telling the truth, but i'd like someone to point this stuff out to me, in the event that i would wish to write about mccain's real stance on abortion. thanks!

What Baldwin doesn't realize is that Roe v Wade is in the hands of the Supreme Court and during the Bush administration Bush has only had two supreme court appointees. So it'd probably take atleast 1 more justice to overturn the decision that allowed abortion on demand.

Yes migrant workers are known to have a small net gain to the economy, but it's not right that hospitals have to close since they cannot make a profit. As our economy continues to get worse and people lose their jobs migrants will be an unfair target. I don't want to have to choose #1 to speak English! I would love to vote for Mr. Baldwin, although I fear it to be an empty gesture, as most third party candidates have been.

Frankly, I was energized politically to a greater degree than I had been in over a decade thanks to Mr. Ron Paul. I hope he can do what Regan did in the near future and redirect the Republican party to where it belongs; running in a third party in our current political climate does nothing but garauntee defeat.

Per the interview, I know he would like to have a reversal on Roe v. Wade but it seems that he would like to make abortion a federal ban which would leave the 10th Amendment out. I know religion is important to him as it was in the founders, individual a.k.a. state rights is essential part of upholding the oath to the constitution. If he wants to push a federal ban on abortion, send it to the states for an amendment. His message should be constitutionally clear.

Apologies danielson. I agree on the abortion issue, but the problem in my mind is deeper then pro-life or pro-choice. I think irresponsible people have abortions because of selfishness. If abortion was made illegal I would support sending the funding that used to go towards planned parenthood and other government sponsored pro-abortion groups to non-profits like churches and other businesses set up to facilitate helping a single mother bring her baby to term to give up for adoption.

I am not an economist, but I do trade in the exchange market, and I study topics that interest me. There are pros and cons having 12 million illegal immigrants here.

Pros include: Buying power = boosting econ.

Cons include: Reduced wages for the low-skilled worker. Drugs are transported here from Mexico and cause a trickle down cost for the users, police, border patrol, courts, hospitals and jails.

Hospitals are closing and the staff losing their jobs with a trickle down premium for medical treatment. State welfare and insurance costs go up. Contagious diseases like Leprosy and TB are much higher among illegal aliens. Strain on healthcare and education. Most do not want to assimilate to our culture.
