  • Damn, I didn't even know the UK got tornadoes... btw you guys should see the shit we get in the United States. Hurricanes, flash floods, powerful tornadoes, droughts, dust storms, fires, extreme blizzards, earthquakes, volcanoes, lightning storms, tsunamis and hailstorms are all very common in our weather.

  • bloody hell thats ron weasley!

  • Actually the proper Devonshire pronounciation is "Bleddy Hell!""

  • lmao ;p

  • bloody hell harry its a tornado

  • you sound SOO posh :L im british and i dont talk posh :L

  • I say old boy, one can see a tornado, Bloody hell!

  • To be honest apparently england gets the most tornados in the world but are just never near towns or citys this man was just exaggerating

  • @HelloWorld73013 Thanks, we like you too.

  • What a remarkable sight. Often tornadoes in the UK are at sea or along the coast. Twisters formed over land in UK are quite small, not extremely destructive and never monstrous. We dunno what the climate will bring in the future though.

  • i live in south devon

  • @MrDRIFTIFICATION well did and will in a couple days

  • RON!

  • I LOL'D WHEN I HEARD: "Bloody hell." xDDD

  • @HelloWorld73013 I'm a Brit. this cracked me up.

  • Nice video. Would love to have been there.

UK gets an estimated 350+ tornados a year but many are rarely spotted because they aren't that big or destructive.

  • England has more tornados than the USA, but only small ones USA have big ones.

  • @HelloWorld73013 Us brits are scared of anything unlike u USA pussys

  • Ignoring all the needless nasty unecessary remarks on here, that was a great piece of footage, thanks for uploading.

  • @HelloWorld73013 Hahaha These guys are a shame to our country. where not all like these two. I never say Bloody hell. :)

  • @HelloWorld73013 Thanks we are cool. We do not get tornadoes here that often. I have not seen one.

  • Oh my god, bloody hell, I can see the pub from here....

  • How is he an embarrassment JonnyE, you cock!, he made the effort to upload his video. The spelling of your name is incorrect if anything your mother should of taken less crack when giving birth to you. Then again i don't blame her.

  • never thought the UK could even hav tornadoes, proved me wrong. ^^

  • @stsars13 the U.K is the worlds tornado capital. (guiness world record book 2009, Holland is 2nd)

  • @YTPEXPERT Wow! Thats just crazy ^_^ thks for telling me that, I truly had no idea. XD

  • @YTPEXPERT

Most stupid thing I've ever read. The UK barely gets tornadoes. And when they do, they're F1s at best. Tornado Capital is most likely Central USA, known as 'Tornado Alley'. South Dakota down to Texas (And sometimes North Dakota and parts of Canada).

As for the Guinness book of records, they recite Oklahoma, USA, as the record, nothing mentioned of the UK.

  • @StadiumHot look in the book, 2009 guiness world record book where the U.K and Ireland is at the back

  • @YTPEXPERT

Sorry, but you are just entirely wrong. Find me one piece of evidence ONLINE that UK is Tornado Capital. You cannot, because it's about as true as Siberia being a nice sunny holiday resort.

Check your facts before you make shit up and post it online. You're just poorly educating others making up your own crap.

  • @StadiumHot

it is based on land mass, if the U.K was as big as the USA the U.K would have more than the US, it's not my 'own crap' it was in a factual book so fuck you

and type uk worlds tornado capital and you will find stuff

  • @YTPEXPERT

So basically, UK is NOT Tornado capital, because it is based on land mass, not amount of tornadoes.

You do realise, 'Tornado Alley' in USA is roughly the same size as the UK, maybe a bit bigger, right?

UK gets around 40 a year. Tornado Alley gets 300 in a month (in summer).

  • @StadiumHot here is what it says in guiness world records... 'incredibly, the UK is the world's tornado hotspot, hit by a record of one tornado per 7,397km2 (2,856 mile2), The equivalent figure for the USA is one tornado per 8,663km2 (3,345).'

  • @YTPEXPERT

    @YTPEXPERT

The Fatality rate in the UK from Tornadoes is pretty much 0. The strongest Tornadoes are pretty much eF1s or eF2s.

The Tornado in Joplin, Missouri 2 weeks ago inspired me to respond. A mile-wide eF5 Tornado killed 140 people. I think we can all safely agree that people in England are very safe and people in the Middle of USA are not as safe.

Search 'ef5 joplin mo tornado' for a real tornado.

  • @StadiumHot

In fact, nobody in the UK has died from a Tornado since 1913, and even that was less than 10 Fatalities.

  • @StadiumHot Yep, I'm from the UK and love tornadoes, I wish we did get to see as many tornadoes as that world record would imply.

There might be a higher chance of seeing them in the UK, in comparison to the entire land mass of the USA, but they're rarely spotted and very rarely grow into the long lived monsters in Tornado Alley. I'd love to see one of those long lived F2+ tornadoes here, as long as they were out in an open field. I wouldn't like the weather there the rest of the year though!

  • thats an F0, the weakest type of tornado and they are very common in the UK, the strongest tornado was and F2 in london and birmingham in 2007 :)

  • Yup,bloody hell!

  • it amazes me that on nearly every video, there is someone being negative to someone else, I don't get it? Why comment if you've got nothing nice to say. "Speak properly next time. You're an embarrassment to the Uk." As an example. Get a life or maybe just grow up? Either is good :) Okay? thanks.

  • Wooo go Devon!

  • Comment removed

  • the UK is an embarrassment to itself

  • the chav and the cockney!! heehee

  • I love how everyone says 'speak properly you're an embarrassment to the UK' when all he said was "bloody hell", and sorry to break it to you guys, but we're very well reknowned for saying "bloody hell", so there is nothing unexpected or embarrassing here.

  • @Kittywhiskers1000 well said mate. was about to say the same.

  • wtf yo, your an embarresment to the fcking UK we dont speak like that and we arn't dumb assess, so get a AMERICAN Handbook next time ok?

  • Comment removed

  • @superleftysourflap and who in their right minds says "yo"?

  • lol, first thing he sais "oh, a tornado" like "oh, its raining" second, yes theres a tordado, congratulations inspector clouseau.

  • wow-i didnt know england had tornadoes.the only tornado i nkew about was the 2005 birmingham tornado!

  • @LilMissFi123x lol me too

  • Did he died?

  • @HelloWorld73013

Its EF '0' (zero) its what tornadoes are measured with EF0 is weak up to EF5 being the strongest :)

  • Bloody hell is right.

  • Thats incredible. You are so lucky. How long did it last in total?

  • @HelloWorld73013

The Enhanced Fujita Scale or EF scale rates tornadoes from EF0 to EF5 based on the severity of damage they do. An EF0 causes light damage or no damage at all.

  • I dare to say I am thrilled to find a footage of a tornado in the UK, however, I didn't expect it with the remarkable, typical english dull emotion: 'Oh, It's a tornado. Bloody hell.'

I guess that's the proof that the twister did hit an english county. Right?

  • =( i wish u can get them in London...though we did have an EF0 so i guess that counts.

  • @hypo12345678910 London does get them, there was one in kensal rise. I know as I learnt it as a hazard risk in my geography as at college... London is prone to them because of cold fronts form then north

  • Bloody hell indeed! Shot!

  • Some good footage there although they didn't sound very excited, ooh it's a tornado.

  • ^.^ stupid americans

  • That's some awesome footage!

Still, never in my life have I heard a more enthusiastic commentary. 'Yep, yep, oh it's a Tornado.'

  • damage, actually

  • This looks like the same tornado we saw. I have posted our video titled Tornado in South Devon 2007. We first noticed a small double corkscrew appearing in the clouds above us as two storm clouds collided. This corkscrew at the base of the cloud grew and then shrunk in a repeated fashion for about ten minutes. Suddenly we noticed a tornado hitting ground some miles away. There was also a violent hail storm reported by people who were down near Slapton Sands at the time.

  • bloody hell > ron weasly!

  • LOL

  • @maniacwithagun767 Hahahaha! You're right :D

  • @maniacwithagun767 Are you mental?!

  • LOL you can tell this video is going to get so many hate comments by americans just because of the bloody hell LOL

  • these are cute twisters...hell baby bring the kids and lawn chairs out and lets go twister watchin in the uk!!!

  • Bloody hell .! paha

  • yup, bloody hell!

  • bloody hell.lol. might aswell join in

  • 'Bloody hell'

    XD

  • lol u see that penny!!!.... Bloody hell!! lmao

  • wow unreal i was in devon last week

are these english ones dangerous ?

  • Not like the ones in America but still pretty big.

  • All tornadoes are dangerous. Even an EF0 can break tree limbs and injure people.

  • wtf no one in uk speaks like that.......

  • Yes they do sound like that.

  • Bloody hell! Good show, Harreh!

  • Ha, this video make's us devonshire's sound well posh haha

  • bloody hell

  • Bloody hell..... didn't wanna feel left out lol

  • bloody hell! ( didnt want to feel left out)

  • bloody hell , everybody sayin it .

  • bloody hell sounds so like ron weasley

  • yes lol bloody hell

  • lol bloddy hell

  • Thats a rare sight in the UK for a tornado. I don't think there's ever even been an F5 (T5 in UK) ever recorded there. The USA is the Tornado hotspot.

  • WHAAAAT!! There was a t9 1n 1091

While the United Kingdom has more reported tornadoes, relative to its land area, than any other country excluding the Netherlands, the vast majority are weak. The strongest recorded tornado in the country struck Portsmouth on December 14, 1810 with a T8 (F4) rating and a top wind speed of 213 to 240 mph.

  • yeaah , in cardiff we think we have only had one so far.

but USA is like the torandoes favorite

  • 'bloody hell' sound like ron weasley

    great video

  • hahaha bludi hell bludi hell, typical southern accent

  • We actually get more tornadoes per square mile than anywhere else in the world, but they are so small they're hardly scary and to be honest entertaining to watch. The most our tornadoes can do are chuck cars and tear off a few roofs, not severely flatten a whole area. A big majority of them don't even touch down, and are just funnel clouds.

  • I must clarify that we don't all speak like that in England.

  • haha yeah. I was in London last year. Those sound like the British version of an american southerner.

  • I say what what what, Bloody hell, you see that penny LOL.

  • language timothy lol

  • wow, I was on holiday over there back then, we were away that day so we missed it but we heard the tornado was only about 5 miles away from our campsite.

  • Yeah, i'm sure it was, idiot. Oh and by the way we don't rate it in F's over here, we rate it in the scale of T0 to T5, and our scale is far weaker compared to the US one.

  • Ever heard of sarcasm?

  • Well i'm sorry but theres no way of telling over the internet to be honest.

  • TO to T10 I think

  • bloody hell

  • i m a bit scared coz tonight time:23:56 date:08.03.08 it was a really hard rain so i dnt want a storm 2 come aghhhh noooooooo:(

  • i live around there, but i was on a school trip in paris at the time, but a friend was texting me about it.....

  • that looks like a landspout

  • I agree.

  • They are a very rare phenomenom.

  • The UK has more tornadoes per square mile than anywhere else in the world so it's actually not that rare. We get about 45 or more per year in the UK.

  • I know. That's still a small number relative to the UK's land mass. Most of those tornadoes are also weak.

  • Why do americans or w.e take da piss owt of our accent..i cud say da same abwt them

  • Speak properly next time. You're an embarrassment to the UK.

  • @JonnyE Not from the UK, mate. South Africa's home. Be embarrassed all you like. David, the cameraman.

  • "bloody 'ell!" Fantastically British, old sport! Jolly nice vid, whatwhat?

I'm in Oklahoma and... well I have seen rotating clouds but no tornado yet. If Oklahoma was a country, it would top the tornadoea/area ranking, but the US as a whole is quite far down.

  • To be born an Englishman is to win first prize in the lottery of life

  • Global warming has finally hit the UK. It's just a matter of time now.

  • Tornadoes have been happening in the UK for hundreds of years. The London tornado of 1091 (yes, 1091...) was thought to be the strongest - equivalent to an F4 tornado on the fujita scale. Tornadoes of such strength throw cars like toys.

  • Wow, I didn't know Ron Weasley was filming? :-p Nice video - I always love the UK tornadoes!

  • didnt look that windy where they are standing :@:@:@

  • Bluddy hell!

  • as he said on the film bloody hell,

  • This is fascinating. From a distance it just looks like a small fire or someone burning something. There are probably lots of these occuring all the time that we just don't know about because they're not like the ones we see in America. Thanks for the footage.

  • I read that the UK has about 60-70 tornado's a year (nothing like the USA ones) but most are not seen as they occur at night. We drove under one crossing a road when I was a child, making our ears hurt. Plus I had one pass through my village a few years back. Long line of damage across fields and a few roofs damaged. But I LIKE dangerous weather.

  • HA HA HA

     Windy bits

  • haha lol thts kool neva seen a tornado lik dat

  • i saw the storm clouds but not the tornado :((

  • The tornado is the long darker tornado-shaped thing.

  • no, i saw it clearley on the vid but i was in south devon that day as i live in devon but i didnt see the tornado then just the dark clouds. thanks anyway

  • if i saw that, i'd say...........

wife, get the kids packed and grab the tins of beans, we're moving out NOW...

  • hey its ron weasly

  • nope, it's just england, we all say "bloody ell!" over here :P

  • yeh, but, alansarahdod, we see loads of tornadoes. as rik7467 said, britain is the tornado capital of the world.

  • Typical British response" Bloody Hell" which means put that kettle on for a cup of tea. Now if it was an American witness they would of evacuated, called Air Force One and gone to Defcon level 2.

  • LOL LOL Hahaha

  • hahahaha

  • "Britain is the tornado capital of the world. It has more tornadoes per square mile than any other country in the world. Luckily for us, our tornadoes are usually smaller than those reported in places such as "Tornado Alley" in the United States, where tornadoes are so huge that the US is often mistakenly believed by people to be the world's tornado capital. But even Tornado Alley has less tornadoes than Britain."

  • Yes i agree they occur less often but are brutal but if u get them a lot then it's worthy of the title glad i don't live near either tornados are scary

  • i live in plymouth and saw quite a few of these this yaer and last, strange but cool to look at. No flying cows or house's though :((

  • bloody hell!!!!!

  • We had a one a couple years ago... could see it even though it was out on the sound (Plymouth Devon).

  • British natural disasters r just a bit toned down. God knows his boundaries

  • Exactly, it'd be like shitting on your own doorstep :D

  • hey dont diss us! the brits invented tea! so blurgh

  • fake or not they are not exatly very enthused about the evnt are they? If I saw one live I'd be crapping myself with excitement not "oh look theres a tornadoe"

  • Mate, they're British - 'bloody hell' means they were prety rattled.

  • The Dark Lord comes.

    The signs are all there.

  • i remember this happenning on the news. good footage. glad it wasnt in a town

  • UK has more tornados per sq.mile than the USA every year but seeing the UK is so small we dont see as many, That was a real tornado and there was a bigger funnel in Lancashire a few weeks back, not to mention the one in Birmingham which did much damage last year.

  • can i ask how is this fake? how du i ny of the twats out ther assume this is fake? idk wot u hav 2 du 2 proove its not fake b t thers a website, it was reported in the news in devon and even by looking at it u can tell its not fake. wot the hell r ppl talkin bout?

  • Nice rope Funnel and dust tube on that.

  • Looks like tornado, spins like a tornado and 'bloody hell ' it is a tornado.

P.S. Did put a damper on the picnic with all that dust

  • TheAdum you are an idiot of the highest order. You know nothing about weather so shut up and leave the pros to it. Your above comment is dangerous and misleading garbage of the highest order. The video clearly shows a tornado probably a T1 which means that its blowing at about 80 mph which is more than enough to cause carnage. You are talking about a dust devil which is a very different kettle of fish to this very obvious tornado. ANyone who thinks otherwise is just being a contentious asshole.

  • haha noice use of the phrase "very different kettle of fish"

  • Bloody Hell!

    Yep!

  • Sorry an F0

  • An F1

  • all that is needed to top that off is a cockney saying cor blimey a few times

  • Quite common in the UK but mostly very small and out in the countryside away from towns and cities, but still fascinating.

  • It's actually a Vortex. A type of twister but with very slow wind speeds, and doesn't move.

Not even the slightlest bit dangerous and are very common in the UK.

  • The Adum, you are a prat, every year there is damage due to British tornadoes and this could easily have been one of them if it hit a town! Don't comment unless you know what you are bloody on about you prat!

  • ur right i reckon.. there are tonnes of these but very few tornadoes
