  • any tips for unlocking a 960t with the 970 extreme3? mobo sees the cpu as "amd processor model unknown" when i turn on UCC and windows won't boot >.>

i've overclocked it to 4ghz no problem, unlocking seems to be a pain

  • my ii x3 455 didnt unlockd ;( i dont know what i do wrong or something

  • this motherboard have a pci-e x16 2.0 or 2.1 ?? Please tell me!

  • for me don't work..

    ASROCK N68-S3 UCC

    and

    AMD Athlon ii x2 250 3.01Gzh

when i enable and save settings, and start up pc it is same!Nothing change!

  • @kacerac09 it might not have another core to unlock

  • @kacerac09 me too :((

  • sounds like pr0n music

  • can't change on AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor ?

  • the multi. going down from x14 to x4 WAHYYYYY

    2:35!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK

  • @MrDocToto Cool n Quiet kicking in, thats when the CPU is not doing nything intensive, it drops the speed to keep energy use and temperature down ^^

  • AMD fornze opon you

  • Where can i find out if the ADX250OCGMBOX Athlon 3ghz dual core is compatible for UCC???

I followed the guid on the asrock website but there are pptions in their bios which arent on mine!!! how can this be? PLEASE HELP :'(

  • How high is the Chance that I can unlock a Phenom II X2 to a X4?

  • @Germanyisthebest1

    More and smaller! :(

  • I upgraded to AMD Phenom X4 955 Black edition thanks to ashrock :)

  • wowowo, wait a second.. its seems easy but NOT every (!!) quad core cpu can be unlocked to a six core cpu! by the way the garantee ends by unlocking and you just have a 50-50 chance the unlocked core(s) works solid! why did amd locked these cores?^^ they could be faulty ;)

  • i have an amd phenom x3 8085 can i unlock one more core?

  • Hi,

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3 Ghz Dual Core.

Can it's possible to unlock it witch an X3 or X4 core ?

  • quality is sucks

  • when my computer boots up its freezing D:

  • Hey please answer anyone .... i have an AMD athlon 3800 x2.

I go to bios but it dosnt show me that "ASRock UCC " what i must do ?? is it my bios problem or my cpu??

  • @13athanatosgr13 Lol, I bought a N68-C UCC, only to find out that the board I got was the non-UCC version (yes, there is a non-UCC version). Chances are you might have got that board accidentally :(

  • @IsShitBrown first of all ty for answering but i sold my 3800... and now i got the phenom 960t and i have unlocked it in x6 and everything is cool..! sorry for my english :)

  • wait, can you unlock a 4 core cpu to 6 cores?!?

  • How does unlocking work? Does it divide the power up into extra cores and if so wouldn't that technically be bad for a gaming computer where core speed is > than # of cores for games that aren't very advanced in the multi-threading department? I suppose it's only used for non gamers?

  • Just bought a GTX560ti to it

  • LOL i just bought this!!

  • Can I unlock my 6-core to 12? and call it a dozen?

  • i forgot to say the name of motherboad its asus m4n68t-m le v2

  • hello everyone i dont know more about unlocking cores or overclocking

    i have : amd sempron 145 processor

    can i unlock cores

and also tell me that does unlocking cores cause harm to my comp. and can i play games wwhich need higher processor

    thnk U :))

  • so what would this do for my quad core processor if i unlock it

  • im running windows 7 how to i unlock my cpu core with startup what do i hit to go into to bios options

  • @whitefox25 F2 during setup, usually located at the top of your keyboard.

  • @MondoMiniman thank you so what would this do for my quad core processor

  • @whitefox25 unlocks all cores, pretty much it'll probably give you a noticeable boost in performance.

  • @MondoMiniman so is it recommended to do this, i guess what im saying is the option wasn't turned on to begin with so is this going to have any negative effect.

  • @whitefox25 no.

  • @whitefox25 keep hitting F2 or DEL after power on if you can't get to BIOS if its too quick.

when the mobo screen appears, press DEL (or F2)once.

  • YOU GUYS FROM ASROCK...

does A780LM-S motherboard unlock phenom II x2 555 BE????

    THANKS!!

  • Yes

  • Will this mobo run my AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ processor? My current mobo is old and causing problems so I need a new one but no money for new CPU+GPU yet so I want to move my existing parts over to a new mobo along with my DDR2 ram and be able to upgrade to DDR3 in the future when I have money. I heard something about it only supporting up to 95W CPUs and I'm not sure what the power consumption of my CPU is.

  • this board supports AM2 processors?

  • Comment removed

  • aaa

  • is it safe on stock cooler ???

  • didn't work for my amd athlon ii x4 630 :( it's a quad core, i enabled it, still no hexacore.

  • Cool! Thanks!

  • how can ddr2 and ddr3 compatible in asrock coz i tried 1 gb ddr2 and 1 gb ddr2 but nothing change. . i think it's not compatible any idea

  • @emongskie69 u can use DDR3 OR ddr2, one of them, not both at same time...

  • will this work for my AMD Athlon x2 3,0GHz?

can i make more cores? or do i have to have x3 procesor

  • @MultiKnez athlon x2 is on regor die (only TWO CORES)

x3 and x4 are on Propus dies. (budget is you are so lucky that you got an x3 or x2 with Deneb die and l3 waiting to be unlocked!)

  • i did that when my comp boots up it says 4 instead of 3 >>> good but it restarts....i have an amd athlon II x3 450 what should i do?

  • can i unlock with this motherboard? asRock N68C-SE

  • the slowest boot up i have ever seen.. with a amd x6 1055 4 gig or ram corsair 1333 , it takes more than 1:30 to boot.. and if the pc sleeps it restarts alone... a mistake that ill never do again

  • I observed something from minute 2.33 to minute 2.36. The core speed was reduced from 2805.5 MHz to 801.6 MHz while the multiplier was reduced from x14.0 to x4.0. What happened there? The core speed and multiplier decreased. From what I understand, such reduction is not good for the computer performance. Can anyone here please explain further about this?

  • @secriajix It's cool and quiet

  • @secriajix Probaly power saving option in the bios. My CPU also downclocks himself from 2,4ghz to 1,7ghz when not being fully used. Still, going from 2,8ghz to 800mhz seems a little odd

  • @secriajix - Its a Asrock bundled software. It will downclock the CPU if there is nothing intensive going on to save power. it then tracks how much power you have saved since its enabled. Very handy for hosting servers or downloading overnight!

  • I like ASRock

  • Hello,

    I have a question, this mainboard also fits Asrock 890GX Extreme3AMD Athlon X2 6000 +?

  • can I unlock x4 955 to a six core, i have the 95w vesion...

  • can I unlock x4 955 to a six core, ia have the 95w vesion...

  • can i do it with all processor types?? for example my AMD Athlon X2 260??

  • asrock,do 870 extreme3 r2.0 and 870 icafe r2.0 have turbo UCC? because in asrock website it doesn't explain there is any turbo ucc feature.

  • hey listen my pc have one problem !. when i starting my pc shows me nothing only black screen nothing eles pls help me what i can to do i have asrock motherboard g41c-s and before i tasted to update my bios and next i restart my pc and now i have that problem what happen ? pls pls help!!!! or i will burn my motherboard and i have processor intel core 2 quad q8400 2.66ghz and 4gb ram and psu 450watts !! so?

  • Ar this good ASRock UCC?

  • In normal cases, it is not possible to use or unlock any of those hidden cores because originally those cores were disabled: a technique called "chip harvesting" or "feature binning" used by AMD to sell parts with one or two defective cores which will cause system instability if not disabled.

    - Wikipedia

  • @UncleKennybobs not always the case in other cases they have one or 2 cores disabled so they will run cooler or use less power or so they can just make really big versions of the cpu and just sell quad core a dual cores and yes on some they can become unstable if enabled not because of a faulty core because they arnt designed to run with all of the cores

  • @UncleKennybobs In most cases, unlocked cpu cores haven't caused instability to a system.

  • WHY IS IT WHEN I ENABLED IT..

THE WINDOWS DONT SHOW UP OR START UP..

HELP ME ..HOW AM I GONNA DO IT

  • is this available on AMD sempron 140?

  • ASROCK I LOVE YOU NOW I HAVE 4 CORES :D:D:D

    AMD PHENOM II X2 555 BE ---> AMD PHENOM II X4 B55

  • @TuncayBaran40 I also have the same processor I use,But I cannot unlock! :( My system: CPU type:AMD Phenom II 555 Black Edition X2, 3215 MHz (16 x 201) CPU Clock: 3214.6 MHz Motherboard Name: ASRock N68C-S UCC BIOS version P1.60 Updated (old version: 1.50) Motherboard Chipset: nVIDIA nForce 7025-630A, AMD K10 Memory: Kingston 1GB DDR2-A8KB5 KLDD48F-800 (400 MHz) Kingston 1GB DDR2-B8KU5 KLDD48F-800 (400 MHz) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce 9800 GT Power: 420W Chieftec
  • @TuncayBaran40 Good for you bro, my 555 wouldn't go X4 or even X3 :( (AsRock 970 Extreme4).

  • I got asrock m3a ucc and I just love it works find and I ucc to 6 cores;DE

  • the amd cool n' quiet is another option that allowes pc to don't use the full cpu power when it's not needed it uses it when it need and saves power and processor but maybe pc can go slowly maaaybeee. ucc is another option that unlock a cpu if you need to unlock. it's just for x2 and x3 that jump to x4. i have one x3 and i have test it and i unlock and do x4.. it's cool for games and everything else ;)

  • I've got an AMD athlon II x3 420. I'd I enable this feature will I have to buy a new cooler or will it be unstable?

  • @ChasingFlies - hey wanna do the same thing :D same cpu 2

  • @ChasingFlies - hey i wanna do the same thing 2 with the same processor. :D

  • *yea its actually the x3 450. my motherboard supports it i just dont wanna like gave it overhear cuz i dont know if i have to buy a new fan..

  • I have it

    I love it

    I gonna kill you!!

  • can it read cards?

  • is this a good mainboard for this price ?

  • AMD Phenom 2 X3 720 Heka

    THX you!

  • @MajorisGaming lol okay, im sorry dude..

  • @FarizMetal :)

  • I need help lol, i go in my BIOS and there is no ASRock UCC, my motherboard is a ASRock N68C-s UCC, and it dosnt even have that. I have a AMD Athlon X2... need advice :S

  • @JakeDrew2 it only works with the phenom series mate

  • @FarizMetal so i will need to buy a new CPU Core, should i get the AMD Phenom X2 or the AMD Phenom X4?

  • @JakeDrew2 Phenom X4 definitely, ;) <--- if you get that u can unlock it to X6

  • @FarizMetal no you cant unlock to x6 !!!!!!

  • @MajorisGaming Wow dude, you are a noob, please go to the ASROCK UCC website for more information, your gonna need it.

  • @JakeDrew2 athlon x2 dont have 4 cores onboard!!

  • Comment removed

  • It says mine is compatible but under cpu-z it still says 2 cores, although its enabled under bios... Is this because I'm overclocked?

    AMD 250 x2 AM3

    ASRock N68C-S

  • People from ASRock, please, do not speak so fast and nervous :D

    Are you hurring somewhere? )))

  • @McArcher001 Asians are not used to speak English you know ( except for Filipinos hehe)

  • cool

    thx u got subscibet

    nice vids

  • ASRock sucks ive got 2 of these bords both repacements from novatech and they have never worked i need to go back do ur selfs a favour do not buy from this compeny ive checked all my hardware in a m8s pc and it works evan my amd athlon 64 x2 duel core prosser it just goes on and deos nothing at all none of the pre installed usb ports work ive tryed them with veryious differant mouses

  • ASRocK UCC :) Nr1 ;D

  • @immort4lx XD noooooooooooooooooob

  • will n68c-s ucc work with athlon ii x3 445 I need to be 100% sure?

  • @isomikieee depends on cpu. if u are lucky it works with all athlon 2 and phenom 2 x2 or x3

  • @isomikieee When unlocking cores you need to keep in mind that the cores might have been locked because they were unstable to begin with, but they could have been locked because of surplus, there is no such thing as 100% chance you can unlock every processor and it would be stable. But to answer your question, yes it will unlock the cores and it will be recognized as AMD Phenom II X4 B45 but it might not be stable.

  • i got the asrock n68 s3 UCC and it doesnt work...

  • i bought this in a bundle with a amd 635 quad core 2.9ghz thinking it would unlock it to 6 cores or 8 cores and it just never....

  • is this board micro atx ?

  • Well the speed of CPU Drops too 800mhz cause AMD setting the processor to balance state in factory setting maybe for electricity value. The mhz goes up to max when you're doing heavy applications like gaming, 3d animation or stuffs that heavy but you can set the CPU to max ghz for all time using amd fusion utility to let the ghz become 2.8 eternally xD

  • YES!

  • er... so if you don't have the UCC utility or whatever it is, you can't unlock all the cores?

  • I sat for a while listening to this and just realised.....He is a Chinese Arnold Schwzunegga.

Unlock CPU core. Remove the shock damper from the assembly. Doo it!

"That is cool. Unlock CPU core feature...."

Here is the cores...There are four cores right now....Affirmative.

...That is great....I will blow you away....With my Uzi.

Respect is due, and given....As this motherboard is good.

  • @suckmythach

There's no risk for other hardware

The only thing, what could happen is, that the activation is not successful and you keep your X3 CPU but it's not crashing your CPU or so...

  • that is amazing does it work on x4

  • What? So I have a Quad core when I could have just got a Dual core and switched the other two on?

@fireicer Why the fuck would AMD build in two extra faulty cores? Are those the rejects from the Quad core build or have you been smoking entirely too much crack?

  • lol fagasian

  • @Only10Bucked

    lol you

  • I need a quad core, If I buy a dual core and the disabled cores are malfunctioning -_-', will you give me money back?

  • Don't get ya self wet, asian guy!

  • The reason the core is shutdown is because there is a fault with the extra core usually if you unlock the core you are playing with chance you may get lucky or not that the core will be stable.

  • To all trying to unlock cpu cores on Athlon and Athlon II: Athlons do not support it.

Only PHENOM. People read stuff about your CPU's.

  • @FlankerB3 Athlon II x3 can be unlocked to quad core ... search before posting..

  • i really love asrock! unlocking cpus is as easy as 123. got my x2 550 to x4! their 785 mobos are a steal also, best back for the buck! thumbs up!

  • I tried this with an Athlon II x2 250 3GHz, got nothing. Was on their budget N68C-S mobo... the UCC feature is a nice idea, but it feels like a bit of a lottery with the chips themselves.

  • i have a problem with asrock ucc , after i unlock my phenom2 x2 550 and make a phenom x4 i have problem with sound and internet explorer error "dont't send" .

i have to reinstal the windows and all drivers again ? or what i can do ?

  • i have not a unlock cpu core function in my bios, and i have same motherboard.. my processor is amd athlon x2 fx-62 2.8ghz

  • Ok :D

  • Is it possible to go AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE to x6???

  • @MRGrQ no it isnt

  • @MRGrQ no mate.. soon theres gonna be new amd 4 core processors witht he ability to unlock to x6's.. expect to be anywere between september - november mate.

  • @LFCforEver12341 Ok ty for the info mate

  • supporting list:

    asrock(dot)com/mb/cpu(dot)nl(dot)asp?Model=M3A%20UCC

  • can i unlock x2 core to x3 core?

  • @ihacksteam that's what het is trying to say

  • @midnit19 hes using cool N quiet mate, thats why.

  • @midnit19

power options, thats why it dropped. i believe the test systems OS is win7 or vista. power savings is set on BALANCED. if HIGH PERFORMANCE or power processor management>minimum processor state>100% then it will definitely never drop.

  • @midnit19 i think it's a cool&quiet began to work

  • @midnit19 its called AMD cool n quiet, it clocks back to save energy when idle

  • @midnit19

I've got the same thing when i use ASrock IES, it coudl be that.

  • @midnit19 If I am not mistaken, that is a result of AMD Cool 'n Quiet.

  • @clawbog2 Like Hyper Threading lol.

  • @epizowningyou

Cool 'n Quiet. is nothing like Hyper Threading.

Hyper Threading is Intel's implementation of simultaneous multithreading - feature currently non existent on any of AMD CPU's.

Asrock is being agressive these days, and ppl are saying their boards are good, but I am still skeptical tbh.

  • OH omg.

I'm very sorry , I mistyped HT from SpeedStep >_> . I just forgot the meaning in the time I wrote the comment, but I realised Hyper threading is virtualizing cores. Sorry XD

  • @midnit19 It's Hyper Threading... It reduces the core speed to save power...

  • @midnit19

    Its propably power save

  • @midnit19 thats the amd cool and quiet technology, its not becouse the core unlock

  • @midnit19 multiplier is x 4.0

  • ASRock FTW :) I have a K10N7SLI, and it works like charm :) I can even get my AMD Phenom X3 8250e CPU to overclock at 2,2Ghz! My Previous ASUS M2N-X Froze on 2,1Ghz... Real good overclocker :)

  • i cant understand this asian guy

  • ASROCK FTW!!

  • actually asrock is related to asus in somehow, check their websites and take a good look....
