Here's this thing you have to understand about cosplay in asia (I'm not going to say JUST japan..because granted not all top cosplayers nowadays are only from japan) they're better suplied with cosplay items because it's a big part of pop culture. Double eye lid glue, colored contacts, contacts that make your pulips look bigger, the cloth/accesories and skin creams. In the western world, no one really sells this stuff. Take away the supplies and these cosplays won't be so great.

What I love about the japanese race is that they are VERSITILE! They don't always think so much, like us, as to limiting themselves! If they want blonde hair so be it,green highlights,and even bleach their skin(which they do X.X;) so be it. I would think people would learn from this and be inspired to also be different. They are sorta like my role models and living here in the south, being africian american gives me great joy in trying to be as creative and different.

in asian, it's a regular make up to bleach your skin.. but it's not as common as here in north american.. it's usually meant for to get rid of dark spots and etc.. my mom got skin bleaching from an asian place just to get the 'proper' treatment to bleaching your skin-- oh im asian, but i dun need bleaching, im too white as it is.

Umm><; I would only use pale makeup if I'm trying to be orochimaru, other than that they may be an insult to other ethinic groups and then some people people may put light makeup on. I just kinda don't get it, heheh. I'd say go for it! Japan is a wonderful country with many sides to offer (sometimes they conflict) I LOVED it there, if you get the chance, go to Kyoto for the Sakura Noh High festival in April, the cherry blossom festival for non Japanese speakers. It is magical. If you think anime charicters are cute, wait till you see the girls who play them!
