I am sorry but BMW is a piece of shit. It doesn't last longer than my Honda civic. Good brand but poor quality. Those of you who owned a bmw know exactly what I am talking about. After 100k miles, things start falling apart. I'll stick with my Honda. Fuck BMW for falling apart after 100k miles. This is coming from an ex-bmw owner. Not happy!

hab den letztens auffer Straße parkend gesehen und ich muss sagen: Auf den Bildern sieht er schon ganz gut aus ( verdammt gut sogar ) aber real hat er mich eher enttäuscht. Ich dachte erst, das wäre ein 3er Prototyp wo die die Tarnung vergessen haben aber ne: Hinten stand ganz klar 520d. Aber naja, lasst euch überraschen ;)

I think, BMW is gonna be much better car. Now it's close to 7 series. For a lot less money!!! This fall I'm gonna be in a market for f luxury car. Mercedes was under consideration, but S-series is too expansive and I hate the ergonomics. E-class now reminds me a chisel, and if you order the car with P-2 package, you loose the fog lights!!! BMW on the other hand played it just right. I saw already new GT and loved it! Waiting for AWD version of the Ultimate Driving Machine

WTF?! This thing got UGLIFIED...I do like the new lines and sharper look--it's more coupe like, and seems sleeker. However, I HATE the new front and rear. The front lamps look like they are sagging, and there is more bumper. It seems that BMW went backwards. Also, the new interior is nice, but i miss the old capsule-like dash. Overall, this is car is nor aggressive anymore. Bangle was not a BAD designer, but a BOLD designer. I'm going to keep my E60 5.

@Deltari09 I think in the same way too , I going to keep my E60 too that I love it is a 2004 with the old engine it also have the stick to check the oil , but I can also check this in the I drive system. No turbo and the car running great is a 525i, I don't need more.

like the changes in interior where the dash is now angled towards the driver as in older BMWs. i like the new silhouette being more streamlined and coupe-like. i DO NOT like how they changed the front - the grille and headlights - i think the front of E60 was perfect.

but fuckit. headlights for twin turbos is a fair trade on 550.

It's on how you take it....Bangle wasn't a bad designer, but rather a bold one.

This new 5-series is a step backwards. Its lines are nice, but the fascia lost the aggressive demeanor of the old E60.

I consider that Bangle was a great initiation in the revolutionary car design and the begining was a 7 series with a unique truck design wich I love it , interior, and the E60. but you know time goes by now there are a new models generation out and people hate the old one.

@tyler84 Seems to me you know nothing about automotive design. I know because I'm a talented European amateur car designer. I could actually point out numerous theoretical spots where the design here goes wrong. And now as I speak "theoretically" don't freak out - my own designs always deliver the emotional part, too...

As a piece of automotive design, the e60 will always remain greater than the f10 in every single way, just like Chris Bangle kicks Adrian van Hooydonk's ass.

Why don't you show your emotional designs, some people will love it but i am pretty sure some people will find it rubbish as well. Automotive design is for everyone - as a transport , it's not designed to be judged by talented designers like you. Btw, if my prev comment is highest rated, it shows what people think of e60 design.

@tyler84 I was suprised by the polite way you replied!I admit its ok that peoples taste for design should be variable.I often consider myself superior in this aspect but theres a chance Im wrong.My main point is that the new 5 is overhyped.What I reckon though is cars shouldnt be for everyone because they pollute.Currently I commute by bike.As soon as I can afford a car Ill buy a sports car for sentimental reasons and keep on commuting by bike.Thank you for teaching me a lesson and have good day

This car looks so conservative, and it does look like the 3 series. I have the 525i the current body style and my car looks way better than these new body styles.

BMW needs to step their game up, this car doesn't look fresh or innovative at all. Looks boring... Yawn!!!!

thought i prefer mercedes benz overall i think this 5 series looks and probably driver better then the current E class. Mercedes Benz need to fire their head of design and maybe get a Italian to design their future cars. I mean look at the new SLS AMG fabulous car but very ugly. BMW did the right thing by firing Chris bangle but all their new cars look exactly the same inside and out. this new 5 looks like a 3 in front and 7 at back and the interior is that of a 7.

No Dude! I have to disagree with you, the new 5 series, especially the 535 and 550 are very performance like in look. The new E class looks like a Hyundai Azure! I'd take the 535i over the new E300 any day! Plus a turbo is always nice. for a few extra Ks you could make that 300hp car a 380hp car!

I love everything except for the fact that it gained about 250lbs of weight. That's the wrong direction to be going. Yeah, it's more power, but adding 250 lbs just kills performance and MPG's.
