I have the DVD and there is simply a horizontal SLIT about half way across the bottom card (right side), about an inch from the bottom. The blue card slides in there and you proceed as with your trick. Don't worry, I'm NOT a magician and therefore can reveal any secret without violating any code of silence. I inherited over 100K worth of magic from my grandfather. Magician by default?

I just ordered this trick on penguin magic. Anytime I order one, I always come on youtube and try to see other's routines to get ideas. I'm with Geoff on this. There's no reason to "give away" a trick. These guys work hard to make astonishing illusions for the little guys (us) to perform on stage, at parties, etc. Gaffed cards are more of a copout than anything in my opinion. I always prefer tricks that you can hand out after the illusion is done. Kudos to Geoff for making this trick!

This is NOT how the original "I Hate David Copperfield" trick works...not even close. It's a good guess, but this kid is exposing nothing but his own method. The real version doesn't use an extra card, it's far, far simpler that the method shown in this video.

Here is a MAJOR problem with the way people are reacting to this. I am a fan of AndyFieldMagic and Mismag and all of those older magicians. But when I see the comments on a tutorial, Everybody's thanking them for the tutorial and bowing down to them. But when I see this comments section, all I see is hate and anger. Now I think that it is a bit unfair because you guys are clearly older than him and he can't defend himself for being so young. Now please stop hassling this kid. He did a good tut.

You dont know how many times ive been called out by a spectator that looked up the tutorial on youtube, Its not all about making money but it is an aspect.There are PROFESSIONALS who rely on magic as their primary source of income.

@JacobCM11 If you don't tell the name of the trick then the spectator can't look up what the trick is. Besides Professionals make their tracks so good nobody can figure them out. Of all the audiences that I have performed for, I have never had anyone call out how a trick is done. Mostly because people who don't sit in front of their computers all day have more to do than look up magic. I believe that it is more about the demonstration than how the trick is done.
