  • I have never met your Blue Bell, but I love her! My wife and I just lost our precious boy, Samson, to a coyote attack on Christmas Eve. I understand the pain that grips your heart when a true friend like a dog leaves your side. We are actually looking at adopting a deaf dog, which is why I ended up finding your video. Great song, and great dog! :)

  • @GamerSipes I'm so sorry for your loss. What a horrific way to lose someone so dear to you. I can only imagine what the two of you are feeling, I'm so sorry...

Samson is still with you, guarding the fort, waiting patiently for treats, curled up in your bed. I could hear Blue Bell walking around at night and could feel her curled up behind my legs in bed for months after her death.

Don't wait, save the life of a dog in a high kill shelter in Samson's name.

    .

  • @cherylsenter Thank you for your kind words! Samson only came to me once in a dream, but it was clear and he told my wife and I goodbye. We are going to be bringing home our newly adopted deaf Jack Russell Terrier on Sunday.

  • @GamerSipes - Ohhhh so bitter sweet ...

  • Looks like she had a great life.I have 3 deaf great dane pups --they are now 7 months old. Peace

  • For you and BLUEBELL ~ I think you will understand our song & presentation DOG SONG 2 Better with you There ....also here on YouTube ~ ENJOY

  • RIP. I'm sorry for your lose, such a wonderful dog. Much respect.

  • Thank you for your kind words, I lost my shadow when she passed....

  • RIP blue bell. She was a very lovely dog.

  • She was beautiful inside and out. Sweet, loving and loyal

  • it looks like blue bell had a great life with wonderful people who will alwalys remember him. best wishes--dw

  • Thank you so much for your kind words - Bluebell will always be with us in spirit and her ashes will be scattered with ours.....

  • BEAUTIFUL! RIP sweet Blue Bell...

  • Thank you for acknowledging her existence.

  • Ahh she was beautiful. I have a deaf dog that I adopted from the SPCA and her eyes look just like Blue Bell's! Is it the albino gene that makes the deaf and also the white-blue eyes?

  • I think its called Fatal White - when you breed certain dogs together this happens - they are born hearing and at two weeks of age the nerves in the ears just start dying - god bless you for adopting a deaf dog - they are loving and loyal!

  • Thank you, she's such a precious angel, I named her Angelcake. She appears to be white german shepard and aussie shepard, I'll send you pics of her if you'd like. She really has turned my life from a dog lover into a dog rescuer.

  • I would love to see pictures of your baby - I belong to - friends of the derry dog park - on facebook - please join and put up your pictures!

  • RIP blue bell. such a lovely song and a beautiful dog.

  • Thank you so much for acknowledging her little existence!

  • I understand how sad you feel I used to have a puppy he was a Maltasion Poodle and we had him for a couple of days then he got blood in his poop and started throwing up and it was to serious to cure because he had to go to the vet every week so they put him to sleep :'(. I also feel like hes watching over me all the time I might start to cry now :'( God bless puppys such a great memory to keep in mind

  • wow, i am so sorry.. rest in peace, blue bell so cute tail, lovely blue eyes.

i love how u described "The deafness was never an issue because she was super smart.."

    and

" We were passing a house that was decorated with twinkling Christmas lights. Blue Bell stopped, sat and just looked at the lights.

I had to give her a tug to get her moving again... now I wish I had let her sit a bit longer." (full tears) by the way, i am deaf

  • Sorry, takes me a while to reply - have to be ready to give in to the images that.......

    crying....

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Sounds like Mac was a much loved part of the family - I still mourn for Blue Bell and know she's watching over me/gives me little signs. The other night I was walking Bella, our pup. Bella hopped up, 2nd try, on one of Blue's favorite rock walls to jump up on... Blue liked it because it made her taller than me : ) tears filled my eyes, I looked up, and a huge shooting star went right over my head... Blue Bell saying"don't be sad mommy, I'm Right here with you'.

  • i miss my nans dog mac :( we had to put him to sleep cause he was in pain of his back left pawi got loads of pics of him on my wall around me now :(((( i miss him

  • Thank You for acknowledging her little life - I miss her dearly

  • Nice to know that there are good people out there like you who will take in these animals in need. God rest her soul.

  • Thank you for your kind words Snowbear. I miss Blue Bell dearly and my tears flow freely at the thought of my sweet little girl. I am so sorry for your loss. Two years old, so young...but clearly well loved.

  • Thanks so much for your comment. It made me feel really happy to read it. :)

  • Oh my gosh. I'm crying. I'm very very sad for you :( I wish I had gotten to meet Blue Bell. She sounds wonderful. Aw, it was so cute how she sat in front of the house I bet. What a beautiful dog! I had an Australian Shepherd, and he got hit by a car when he was 2 years old. I was devastated by it, but you know :) Love the song too!

  • Pfff, i have to say, this assen't easy to see.

We had to put our Floske to rest just a few weeks ago, and i do miss her so much.

I think you loved Bleu Bell very much and you have given her a great live

Maybe Floske is playing with her at this moment.

You all gonne meet her again, until then i hope you will cherish the moments you had with her.

    Hug

    Jolanda

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a dog to natural death is hard enough, but having to make the decision put them down is enough to drive a person insane with grief. Time does heal...slowly

Sounds crazy, but I believe Blue Bell has been watching over me since she died, and I pray that she will be there to greet me with her tail-a-waggin' when I die. It's still terribly difficult for me, crying as I type, I miss her so much. People like yourself that send kind words are helping me to heal.

  • I cried

My auntie's dog died last year =(

  • I hope your aunt has adopted a new dog - They bring such joy to those around them.

  • i am actually crying it reminds me of my dog who ran away when i was young and i dont know what happened to him. I feel so sorry for you.

  • It must have been very hard for you, not knowing where your dog was. I hope a kind family took in your lost dog and that he/she is still alive and very happy. When my new puppy, Bella Blue, goes after a squirell in our back field, and I can't find her, I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and immediatly fear the worse. When she finally comes back, I give her the angry face, (never hit your dog). She knows she has been naughty, she sits, hangs her head and holds up her paw.

  • thank you very much that made me happier :)

  • You did so good on the music hey like at the end was that blue bell doing her woo woo bark cause if it was that was soo cute and sweet

  • She wooo woooed every day for her food and when she was happy. I still miss her woo woooing me when I come home from work...crying now.....

  • Im sooo sorry ive never had one of my dogs die before i just hope my dogs live longer =C or even put to sleep After i read your discription thing about the lights sniff i almost cried it reminded me about my dog roxy she had to be given away she was still a puppy to she was part pitbull i didnt want her to go any where i had a real bond with her there was so much we didnt get to do i just hope she found a home that has to kids like me and a loving home

  • Thank you, I'm crying now just thinking about that night and the Christmas lights....still so sad.

  • Heartwrenching to read Blue Bell's bio!! Such beautiful memories these creatures give us! Just wish they lived a bit longer! I am so sorry!

  • i cried...

  • Thank you for acknowledging Blue Bell's existence and passing. That is all I have ever hoped for in putting up this memorial. ... To let people know that such a beautiful spirit once existed in this world....crying.

  • Dear Cheryl: I loved this video of Blue Bell. I cried just reading your description about finding her eating moss and twigs, and the Christmas lights. But I am SO happy because I can see how much you loved her, and what a great life you gave her. I read one of your responses here: please know that I sympathize with you - I am not "over" Champie yet (1 year later). I may never be over him. It doesn't matter - grieve in your own way. You and Blue Bell will be together again. Love Andrea

  • Youtube has given us a place to grieve and support each other - thank you for your kind words - cheryl

  • Just back to watch again, God love ya BB

  • So sorry to hear of Blue Belle. I'm sure she was special. We also have a Blue Belle. She is a white and brown dachshund with blue eyes. She is also deaf. We are told this is due to her coloring and blue eyes. We love her just the same and have taught her signs for basic commands. We found your video when our kids insisted that I "google" her name. Our Blue Belle is a great dog and we don't know what we would do without her.

    Blessings from the Mason Family.

  • shes a beatiful dog and i know how you feel putting your dog down is not an easy thing my dog had to be put down and i miss him so much

  • Very nice your 2 dogs deaf and i love videos thx:)

  • This made me cry. We have a deaf dog and I recognized the "deaf" bark at the end. Neat! We also had a 16-year-old girl who passed away a few years ago who we miss so much. Thank you for the video.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, to lose a loved one after 16 years must have been very hard. I'm so happy that you have a deaf dog! They are the best. One of the hardest things about blue bell's death was that she always greeted me at the door with that funny wooo wooo bark....i miss her dearly

  • I keep coming back, watching this video...it's so beautiful and so tragic, it tugs at my heart and my tears flow every time. She was a beautiful soul and no doubt gave you every ounce of her love, each and every day. You can talk about her here, we uunderstand completely.

  • You do! understand. Thank you so much. My husband feels that I should be past this.......

  • What a beautiful dog. She was very lucky to have found such understanding and loving parents. It brought tears to my eyes watching this, but I know she's in a much better place. My sympathies to you and your loved ones who are suffering.

  • Thanks every so much - It is hard to believe that six months have gone by since her death. Friday was her birthday, she would have been 9. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I am taeching our new puppy, Bella Blue, sign language, asI plan on adopting another deaf dog down the road...don't want Bella to feel left out.

  • shes so adorable... im sorry u lost her.. but shes in a better place now, my grandma lost her dog like 2 years ago we miss her alot too. she was a mini schnauzer

  • I'm sorry to hear about your grandmom's schnauzer, they are such sweey little loving dogs. Little or large, losing a furry friend leaves a big hole in your heart.

  • Your haunting composition tugs at my heart strings as I too, lost my dog recently.

What a beautiful tribute to your best friend, your baby.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss - what makes the grieving process even more painful, is having to hide it from those who don't understand.

  • this made me cry. im sorry about your loss

  • Thanks for taking precious time to acknowledge her little life.

  • Absolutely a very beautiful tribute to an amazing family member. Looks like she led an amazing life full of adventure, could not have asked for more. God love you for loving her. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • sorry for asking and if it is to pain full you dont have to answer but why did you have to put her down

but only if it is not 2 pain full to tell if it is dont say it

  • I don't mind, talking about her keeps her alive in my mind -She was abandoned in the woods at about 4 weeks old - Her digestive tract was permanently messed up as a result - Everything gave her severe diarrhea - which turned into Irritable Bowel syndrome - which, long story short, turned into bowel lymphoma. We had been giving her steroids to treat the IBS. This caused kidney failure. She started having seizures. Then a major stroke. Wagged her damn tail right up until she died in my arms.

  • oh my what a sweetie, she is so beautiful, just love those eyes. its funny how that when u find these wonderful creatures u never think at the time how they will become such an important part of ur life. u done a great job with the video and the song. 5 paws from me

  • what a wonderful dog...

  • Yes, Blue Bell was a little trooper. She did the best she could with the cards she had been dealt. What she couldn't do, I did the best I could to do for her. When she died, I permanently lost a chunk of my heart - crying as I write this - Thank you for acknowledging her existence.

  • looks like a wonderful dog sorry for your loss

  • She was my best friend - Thanks ever so much

  • This video was inspired by Copperbat - My thanks to you
