I remember when I watched this years ago, I knew he was going to win. I'm not religious myself but I respected his conviction. He always carried himself with dignity regardless of what was said by others and what was going on around him. You can't buy class and dignity; you either have it or you don't.

I have seen many takes of this song, but I have yet to find one I like better than the original. It's really hard to reproduce songs that were written with so much passion. He wasn't really feeling it.

I thought he did amazing, I love Mercyme songs and whether they like it or not he was mocking christians and I think it is sad that someone cannot show their faith without being critised.

2 of the judges are jewish (the two white men) as far as I know so I guess this song made them uncomfortable since Kalan was singing a song about his religion, christianity. I heard that the producers wanted Kalan to change the word "Jesus" to "God" so that anyone of any religion could relate to it. But Kalan wanted to sing the song in its original form. Nevertheless I thought Kalan did a beautiful job.
whether kalan is singing to god, a girl, or a paper bag, you can see the passion and emotion he portrays when he sings this song and that is what makes him special.
Its because he sang it an octave to low. I noticed it before they even said anything. Plus his sense of timing was off to but when he got to the second half it was amazing..

Its because he sang it an octave to low. I noticed it before they even said anything. Plus his sense of timing was off to but when he got to the second half it was amazing..

I can't believe it!!
I forgot that he sang thaty song! Whne I first heard him, I didn't even know how ot say Kalan's name! I said Cay-lum!! When he won , I jumped off of our couch and I got grouned for it! But HE IS STILL FREAKING AWESOME!
