The difference between a high downforce (AND light) car like the Radical and a big kart like the Atom is that the high downforce car can put to the road a lot more power.

So you can up the power output of the engine and it will dramatically drop the laptimes.

Same is not true for the Atom , it has little to gain from more power, it's already a handful for the driver.

On the Track, I think Radical is faster all the way; unless if Atom has better aero dynamic than radical. Otherwise, I don't know how Atom can deal with high speed corner like Radical does. By rear wheel grip? Tough luck.

having driven both I know the Radical is the better car for my driving style. The difference for many of us track day warriors is that the Atom can be driven to the track in the US.

I always assumed the Radical would be slightly faster but this is not a dependable test due to the fact that this was her first time driving each one and only drove one lap.... if she had time to gather a feel for each car and then averaged about 5-6 laps per vehicle thenit would make more sense.

The top of the line Ariel atom comes with a supercharged Vtex engine at 610BHP and a 0-60 mph in only 2.88 seconds. If they spent the extra cash for a fair fight then it would have been no contest for the Ariel.
