  • Nice work chk my channel for Music videos shot with canon 5d mark II NICE

  • Definitely some nice low light video

  • Really inspiring.

  • In what takes of the video did he use the 400mm and 500mm lenses?

  • According to what I heard, Laforet Had the 5D for only one night and one day, after he begged Canon to have one for the weekend before they got it out. This movie is just about image and possibilities. WHo gives a shit if it's cheese or cliché ?

  • @merlinenchausson Exactly.

  • pas de feeling, ni d atmosphere

bon pour la pub, pas pour le cinema

  • what's with all the hate? This isn't meant to be an Academy Award winner or even a Sundance Film Festival nomination.. It's a simple video showing an impressive piece of technology and what you can do with it... Each scene is shot and beautifully orchestrated... To philslips, what were you expecting here, obviously too much, sit back, pop open your homemade micro brew, because you're probably 'too good" for anything less, and enjoy the prowess of the technology used here...

  • @SkylineTTurbo Exactly ;o)

  • i'm definitely not a film expert, but this was obviously a pretentious attempt at depth by a group of equipment junkies using their new toys...

  • I wonder how long philslips spent dissecting this video?

  • if you REALLY want to see whats possible on a canon 5d or 7d, watch these: vimeo.com/groups/livethelanguage/videos

  • @philslips

Are you evaluating the screenplay of the film or the image possibilities of the 5d Mark II? The script is not important here, man. Don't be boring.

  • 1:18 hey not bad 1:24 helicopter? stupid. Lol'd while he tries to look cool in his sunglasses at dusk yet awkwardly misses grabbing the door frame or whatever, followed by shaky pans of new york just what i wanted. And then a little under half of the remainder of the video is dedicated to the credits. Wow. I'm so irritated cause this had so much hype, i'm cant even describe how disappointed i am.

  • 0:42 and various other shots invovling camera's attached to hoods, just cause you can doesn't mean you should, personally i think this belongs in car commercials only. 0:47 as previously mentioned sunglasses? why? also is there a rave in his car? okay. 0:55 was really cool. 0:58 dash scenes again, now in addition to shaking, glare and crap on the window also available! 0:59 framerate too high? i can't really tell why this comes close to but just short of cinematic. more car scens woohoo...

  • 0:29 dropping the flowers, thats someone waiting for a cue, dropping some flowers deliberately and moving out of frame. Childish. Probably wanted to me to believe he dropped the flowers in shock lol sorry try again. Also continuity issue as he moves out of frame after dropping the flowers and the next scene he's clearly standing still. 0:39 & 0:40, boring lighting, awful location, framerate too high, i dont know which of these contributes most to these shots feeling incredibly amateur...

  • is this 30fps or 24? This video doesn't have the polish I was expecting. Amateurish moments include: 0:25, very shaky home-movie feel, was that supposed to be a zoom? Next scene of the tire stopping, feels 30fps, also why is this scene here? feels like it belongs in a high tension action sequence...

  • yea he is mines too, I had a hard time choosing which camera to get but I know now I am going to get the Canon 5d mk 11

  • Where can I find the highest resolution version of this video. I see wonderful colors and great camera work, but so far, except on very few 5D MK II closeup shots, I have yet to see any TACK SHARP videos. Oh yeah, they all look good at 360 and 720 pixels wide on a web page, but I want to see something hold up full screen at 1920x1080p and still be sharp. So far, I have not seen this. I am hoping to, but so far... NADA.

  • impressive, most impressive

  • FD 7.5mm f/5.6= $300 EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye= $750 EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM= $1,600 EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM= $1,400 EF 50mm f/1.2L USM= $1,500 EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM= $2,000 EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro= $600 EF 135mm f/2L USM= $1,000 EF 200mm f/1.8L USM= ???? probably $2,000 EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM= $9,000 EF 500mm f/4L IS USM= $7,000 TS-E 24mm f/3.5L= $1,100 TS-E 45mm f/2.8= $1,400 total cost $29,650 ... look on your face "priceless" in closing if i had this much money i would make a video without P.P.
  • Would love to see a post processed version since this video was amazing untouched.

  • Can anyone tell me a video camera that can achieve the same picture as this dslr?????????

  • @Taylorlaurencecook Yeah any red camera can get better! haha that was a joke. Yes, there are some dedicated video cameras with large sensors that can achieve "DSLR" like video... sony's nex-fs100 is a good example, but for that price you would be better off buying a Canon EOS Rebel T2i or something along that nature.

This stuff is not cheap that's for sure.

  • and a chopper!

  • It's so much more interesting when you have a variety of lenses!

  • Hi I'm am selling my 15mm f/2.8 fisheye lens much like the one used here. check my channel for footage with this lens attached to a 5D mk2, and a link to it on ebay, its going really cheap! thanks

  • Thumbs up for Extreme Ways!

  • I dont know what these other people are complaining about, it's a visual story being played. It was shot great and like someone said, an amazing job by the editor.

  • Great video - can you tell me what card you used, speed size etc.

  • this is so freaking cheesy.

  • The trolls are just jealous that they can't get as creative shots as Mr. Laforet.

  • No, the description here is inaccurate to state no post production correction was done to this footage. Much of the motion filmed was EDITED. For instance, the sequence with the car mounts was stablized in post production. It is simply impossible to get a stable shot, even with a perfectly balanced stablizer rig.

  • name THIS SONG pls!!!?

  • @attiFOTTO Moby - Extreme ways ;)

  • I think he did a great job. However, the editor is the F'n man. He really brought this to life.

    Nice work

  • looks like a fragrance advert..

  • I can't believe all these trolls hating on this video. I understand trolls were born to troll, but really? This video > all troll's commenting.

  • he's amazing and him movie is awesome. He is Quentinem Tarrantino photography !

  • He is my icon in photography!

  • cool

  • omg how cheesy

  • OMG, What lens was used at :46?!?! That looks amazing. And what do they use to attach it to the car???

  • @numbah12time could be a Hero Go Pro

  • @numbah12time You can see behind the scenes here: vincentlaforet.smugmug.com/gallery/6021407_xEg87#378479692_MRytZ

  • nice

  • lmao that fake tear that was funny

  • What lens was used at 0:18?

  • not bad but mine is better:

  • What a beautiful scene. It really would be nice to watch it in 1080p!

  • What happened to the 1080p version of this? This doesn't showcase the capabailities of the 5dmkii at all in this format.

  • hahha your hero, the guy is fucking hack lol

  • Only one question:

Why is this asshole wearing sunglasses at night?

  • @bgfilms good question.

  • What the fuck? This sucked ass.

  • vincent is a HACK,, how is this guy famous honestly....and yes I am saying with the budget and lenses I could do a MUCH MUCH MUCH better job, this is pathetic, cliche, corny and just sad that this is all he could create with so many nice lenses and a 5d mk ii, I will rent one of those lenses and use it on my 7d and make a better short....sorry vincent, it's just not good, I have seen other work, I really don't why you are quasai famous......you had thousands of dollars of equipment and it sucks!

  • Here's a thought - the helicopter hire probably cost more than the camera. I read about this film in an article titled "It's the talent, not the tools". Quite.

  • @tonto48pronto Agreed - it's not the wand, it's the wizard :-)

  • For free DSLR tips and training visit my channel. Useful information no matter what level you're at.

  • Beautiful camera work.

  • Very contrasty footage. Dynamic range feels very crushed. Some decent shots here. The content is very cliche. Almost feels like I'm watching a university student's first music video.

  • .

...chk out the version on SmugMug...

    .

  • wow very nice work i was searching for that kind of video .. if any body know what that video called send me ..

  • great work

  • Jimmy Reed, will you marry me :0)?

  • very cliche and crinchworthy

  • @notJimCarew how is this cliche?

  • REALLY youre an idiot

  • @notJimCarew I believe the word is "cringe-worthy" lol. Make sure your spelling is correct before you try and insult anyone.

  • shut the fuck up stupid dumbass

  • dude, this is pretty cheese, you are the stupid dumbass for getting this upset about it

  • it's just sad that somehow this guy is regarded as a one of the best photographer/cinematographers in the business....SAD SAD SAD

  • Great camera I've tested :D

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTT ONNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE
