I was taught this song by folk singer Richard Tucker an early Greenwich Village friend of Tim's who actually taught Tim to play guitar and Tim played it in simple D model tuning, Bobby Darin copied the arrangement and told Tim he would not release his until Tim Released his, Well Booby's manager had different ideas and it was released before Tim's Tim heard it on a car radio and for a moment thought it was his then he realized it was Bobby's and boy was he pissed!!

Its an 'ascending' bass line to C, not 'descending'
