@layah2sexc ... Now the aphoghee protein treatment makes your hair hard after it dries under the overhead dryer, but it's supposed to... then u rinse it out and follow the rest of the directions to replenish the moisture.

@funkyredhead1 I'm addicted to cond lol. I like VO5 2 cowash only cuz it only cost $1 so I can use a whole lot. I don't like using it as a moist or deep cond cuz it's watery & doesn't give me that cond/moist feel I like. There r times I'll use Trader Joe's N.S. cond 2 co-wash cond as well as a moisturize cuz the consistency is right 4 both. Sumtimes if I nd more of a smoothing cond. I'll use Nexxus Color Ensure Cond/Detangler or Vital Plus Herbal Organics. Really depends on person's preference.

No cone gel.... 100% Aloe Vera Gel Baby!!!!! It's my staple styling tool ;-) The brand I use is called Fruit of the Earth. no dyes either! I get it at Walmart.

Unfortunately, Trader Joe's does not sell Avocado oil. The only oils they sell that I use in my hair are olive oil & jojoba oil. I get the Avocado oil from either Whole Foods Market or my local supermarket, Acme.

I don't recommend that you do the 2 treatments at the same time... I alternate with the two treatments. The first 3 weeks of the month, I do the weekly ayurvedic treatment, then on the fourth week of the month I do the monthly mayo/egg treatment.

try braiding each section when your done till there patially dry then you will get way less shrinkage

No-cone, non-drying gel: Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Gingko Leaf & Ginseng Root Moisturizing Hair Jelly... some ladies say it works like KCCC for them. I've never tried KCCC, but the it's a keeper for me as I like how soft it keeps the hair with your other products and how it meshes well with other products. Also, it's good at enhancing pre-defined soft curls (likem after you've smoothed in leave-in). However, if you need strong hold you need to layer a stronger gel or something over it.

so, it's good at enhancing curls but only offers a soft hold. I usually layer tiny bit of butter over it or use a leave-in that is good with helping cut down frizz and defines curls, plus I rake & smooth or just smooth to define and defrizz curls before using the jelly.

No, the KCCC does not have cones it, but I'm trying not to spend more than $8 for hair products, and KCCC is more than that. I think the small knot today is $11 & the curling custard is liek $26. I know I can get the same results with cheaper products. Thanks for the suggestion.

try making flaxseed gel...i have a lot of hair so by the time it dried it poofed again but initially it drooped...maybe your hair will stay down as it seems to anyway

Your videos always makes me wanna go in the bathroom and play with my hair :) I gotta try that Mayo treatment. Did the alvocado oil prevent if from getting hard?

My STAPLE gel that I use to define my curls with less shrinkage is Hawaiian Silky curl activator gel. I use it on dry hair that has been put in 6 big plaits overnight (after my co-wash or poo) to long gate wet to dry hair.

Then I take the plaits down and use the shingle method to apply the gel (just like we do the KCCC) to small sections of the hair starting at the root and working down. No combing or deman brush just fingers. Your curls will pop all over the place and will last for DAYS. It dries soft and bouncy, not juicy like a jeri curl and not crunchy. Best thing is has no CONES in this gel and I paid $6.99 for a 16oz. tub in Cali. Its prolly a dollar or 2 cheaper where u at. You should try this girl!

Forgot to mention I use the pink HS gel, they have a clear one as well. When I want a stronger hold for my baby hairs, I use a toothbrush and a little KCCC to lay them down. Thats about all I use the KCCC for....lol!

I smelled the Long Aid one at Walmart and its smells aight I guess, smells jerri curl gel but not highly offensive. Reminds me of back in the day.

The HS pink smells heavenly!! Has a fresh floral pinkish scent if that makes sense, another reason why I liked it!

i get it at whole foods and i believe its no more than $8 i buy in bulk so i cant remember the exact price..also i notice the ones i see online are different from the ones i buy at wholefoods. the ones online have parabens, and the bottle has pink leaves on the front. the tubes from whole foods are just all natural without the pink leaves on the tube.
