We all know the two hippies are "Klinger" and "Father Mulcahy" from M*A*S*H, however, another one of the hippies was also "Ernest T. Bass" from The Andy Griffith Show, who also directed the movie.
@zzyzxx13 Vic Tayback (Mel of Alice) was indeed in this film. He has been an many many many other films. I saw one (can't recall the title) with him in it but was filmed in the 1950's. He looked so different then.
I wonder what would happen if they ever re-made this film like they did with yours, mine and ours? Not that I want them too at all. I am guessing they'd omit everything except this chase scene and make it totally unbelievable

George Carlin was in the movie, too. He worked the closing shift at the drive-in.
