Nice video, how often does the trains go by on this particular route? I've seen 4 trains going through this particular line over in Kennewick within a period of 45 minutes.
"Winter At North Dalles", I assume this is near Dallesport, WA? I have not heard of "North Dalles". Dallesport is on the BNSF main line on the north side of the Columbia River, across from The Dalles, OR, on the south side of the Columbia, and on the UPRR mainline.
Where I filmed, there is a railroad siding named North Dalles. Dallesport is not offically on the BNSF mainline but rather above it. So technically, it is at North Dalles.
That's where I thought this great video was shot! Does the track run closer to SR14 or the river in this area (basically north or south of Dallesport)? I have been past the area many times and simply can't remember. Again, GREAT VIDEO!!!
Dallesport is south of SR14. From Bates (MP 135.9) The railroad does not follow the state highway until around MP89 then follows it more or less to Vancouver. So it follows the shore of the river in this location.
