i have an xbox 1 PAL that has 200v-240v and has 50 hz but also suport Pal 60 but my country has 220v and 60 hz and has ntsc will it work inn that country with PAL xbox to NTSC tv i heard it could work on flat screen TVs and what is Pal 60? i heard its not just PAL 60 hz but diffreant systom and could work
@557011 Good question! The most obvious difference between PAL and NTSC is the 50/60Hz refresh rate, but the differences do extend beyond that. As a result, you will still need a PAL to NTSC converter in order to play a PAL60 signal on an NTSC TV.
@557011 We are certainly moving closer and closer to a world where there is no difference between PAL and NTSC, where the differences no longer matter and anything can be watched on any TV. We're not quite there yet though. In order to really be sure you can watch any of your PAL content on an NTSC flat screen, you'll want a converter.
The video is alright, Chris explains things very well, though... it looks like that they are really into this whole tv video system thing, but still can't deinterlace a simple video properly... that just made me laugh.
@AtlonaVideoDemo I have a question, if i were to purchase a video game from the UK, i could also simply use a pal to ntsc converter to make the the UK game work with my ntsc ps2 console right?
@dlwill80 Unfortunately this will not work. The console itself is region locked and will not allow you to play games from other regions. If you purchased a PS2 from the U.K., you could use this converter to play it on your U.S. TV.
I am trying to get my SECAM VCR to work on my NTSC TV ( I live in Canada) and I have a PAL to NTSC conveter which gives me color but this weird thing happens where the display keeps running down the screen over and over and it wont stop so basically i can't watch the video, I will return this box back!
Same is happening with me as well! I have SECAM VCR and NTSC TV and TV does not have the vertical sweep hold function - they claim in this video that this should work, but my TV shows a colored picture but it moves... the display keeps running down the screen over and over and it wont stop. The vertical sweep rate can not be adjusted on my TV so this box does not work for me, I will return this box back to them!
hey i bought a video camera from america which is NTSC and i tired plugging it into my computer to edit my footage and all my footage was blurry because my computer is PAL is there anyway i can convert my footage to PAL ??
How about if I purchase DVD player from USA and take it to Europe/asia to view movies that are made in NTSC?? Is it possible to hook to an asian/european TV
I've gotten an old black and white NTSC tv to play PAL just fine without a converter. All I did was run the PAL input into a VCR to switch it to a coaxial cable then adjusted the v-hold on the TV. I havent tried it with a colour tv yet tho.
that will work if you use an NTSC vcr with PAL video on its external input, because the vcr modulates the signal to NTSC standard (bandwith wise) meaning you'll have sound. But besides having to adjust the V-HOLD you'll have to adjust the V-SIZE as well, because there are 100 extra lines in PAL that will be cropped out by the NTSC tv. If you attemp to do this procedure with a colour set you'll have a picture but in black and white.
The CDM-660 is a more recent unit. They both are capable of converting all PAL SECAM or NTSC formats. The CDM-660 features automatic input detection. It is a little easier to use than the SB-3690 which you will ave to manually select the right PAL or NTSC format.
Is this thing compatible with the Sony Locationfree Base station? I live in asia and I bought the locationfree base station assuming it's gonna work here but I wasn't able to receive any video signal through it when I connected my cable box (I only get the audio signal). However, I get the video signal when I connected my DVD player. This is when I realized that it supports NTSC 3.58 video. Will the CDM-660 solve my problem?

It would have been cooler if you had actually shown the box doing it's job so we could see the output quality and the fluidity of motion which is where most converters have trouble.
This was intended not only to show people the CDM-600, but also explain what PAL/NTSC conversion was. I will post a video responce where you can see the box in action this this week.
No, The PAL/NTSC converter will not allow you to play PAL tapes on a NTSC VCR. you will still need a PAL player, but it will allow you to use that PAL player on your NTSC display (television)

i have ntsc hdtv 120hz and ps3 pal will it work and toes it bring 120z to 100hz or 50hz?
fantastic77777 1 year ago
@fantastic77777 The PS3 sends a 50z which this unit can turn to 60Hz, and your TV will change it to 120Hz.

Hi. Can the CDM-660 convert a PAL Playstation2 game from the UK to the U.S. NTSC for PS2 play? Thanks!
camille214 3 years ago
no, you would either need to get Pal console or get the NTSC one modified to accept pal

Yes the CDM-660 will work with both NTSC 3.58 and 4.43. You will be able to use it to convert to you local PAL format.
