First off while were talking about led zeppelin; they were influenced by blues a genre that originated in the US. The US also has plenty of great artists: The Black Keys, The Strokes, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, My Morning Jacket, Bon Iver, The Mountain Goats, Fleet Foxes, and TV on the Radio just to name a few.
