If you really want to know a really boring book, then it's The Big Sleep, by Raymond Chandler. R. Chandler is one of the worst authors I've ever read, he's a very crappy writer.
Lord of the Rings cannot suck more than Harry Potter because JK Rowling lifted most of her ideas from JRR Tolkien. And to really enjoy The Rings Trilogy you have to be a young idealistic fool, like I was when I first read them twenty years ago.

Harry Potter dont get me wrong it was great but it seems that Rowling didnt spend as much time on her books. plus Harry Potter is a Childrens book. lord of the rings is a teen/// adault. I will say this Lord of the Rings does get slow sometimes and i sometimes skip the poems cuz there is alot of poems.

harry potter was a crappy book written by a desperate woman who was out of money. lotr, on the other hand, is an excellent book. the reason why you dislike it is becuase it is much older than the modern books of this era. these modern books have very simple and stupid plots. atleast i get to appreciate complex and excellent pieces of literature in english enrichment at school, rather than read a crappy book about a gay boy with a scar on his face.

Alot of people agree with you, me included. I respect the books for starting alot of things, but I just can't get into the books. It's very drawn out, and has huge boring parts. The movies on the otherhand are amazing.

I agree the first book is extremely slow but you can't expect the book to be all action and shit or they'd never get it done. LoTR is alot better. You just have the attention span of a five year old. I agree the books aren't the best written ever ( I personally think the wheel of time is written far better) but the LoTR world is a thousand times more interesting than the HP shit.

I didn't like the movies or the books. I liked The Two Towers a bit. I'm a Harry Potter fan. Never was a LotR fan. I guess I should be because I'm your typical D&D nerd, but I don't know. I just think he was using big words superfluously to try not to sound like the knob he was. That's just me though. And some scenes are just redundant.

If you really want to know a really boring book, then it's The Big Sleep, by Raymond Chandler. R. Chandler is one of the worst authors I've ever read, he's a very crappy writer.

Lord of the Rings cannot suck more than Harry Potter because JK Rowling lifted most of her ideas from JRR Tolkien. And to really enjoy The Rings Trilogy you have to be a young idealistic fool, like I was when I first read them twenty years ago.
