two weeks ago I went to walmart and the guy managing ths fish section placed the betta with another on in the same cup. I told him you cant put two betta in a cup they will kill each other. He just laughed and said no they're ok. I told the manager he said he will have a talk with the guy. Most of the Walmart fish department staff dont know anything about fishes. Thank God all the Walmart here in Ontario are no longer selling fishes the supplier went bankrupt.

To all the people who say that they are just feeder fish and that this needs to be done... It is a common misconception. Oscars and other predator fish should not be fed live goldfish like this. If they are, only very rarely as a treat. They are not only put open to catching illnesses from the goldfish, but also get too much protein in their diets, which will also lead to health issues. They need to be fed a balanced, nutritious diet. Not just goldfish.

I saw these brown eel-like fish in Walmart. They ganged on this oranda goldfish and when they swam away all that was left was the goldfish skeleton. All the meat, cleanly ripped off. Those fish were soooo not compatible, that was such a horrible sight, it was traumatizing o.o

I work at Petco and we have fired people for not treating fish or animals well. We have a VERY strict policy of how to take care of everything and if you are not doing it right you will be fired. Our aquatics expert has been with us for 7 years and is great.
