The X-ray shots were done mostly with CompositeLab, though the skeletons were animated and rendered in an app called DAZStudio, which is essentially a freeware version of Poser. I've considered writing up a tutorial for the Fxhome forums on the effect - in fact there are a few tutorials I've been meaning to do for awhile.
Yep, I did all of these. The skeletons were animated in DAZ_Studio (similar to Poser) and all the filters and compositing were done with FXhome's CompositeLab Pro.
Hmm. Do you mean the actual beam, or just the red glow on the doorknob? The glow was done with a simple grade object and a freehand mask in EffectsLab Pro. The heatvision beam itself was made in several layers, using a technique I wrote a tutorial for on the Fxhome website, in the EffectsLab Help forum.

where did you get the sound effects for the heat vision?
NateSharp 3 years ago
From the DVD's. Specifically, the episode, "Scare." in Season 4. I've got a whole folder of sounds - if you like, I could e-mail them or similar.
