They made 2wd versions that were called "Metropolitans" and the 4WD versions were called "Centurions". But all these bronco hybrids were FOUR door trucks. NO DIESEL BRONCO WAS EVER MADE BY FORD.

AND torque has everything to do with it... dont leave one out... if the wheels are peeling out, your not gettin the most traction... so the diesel is able to deliver more power to the wheels without floggin the throttle so he kept traction... diesel will indeed win everytime... put that diesel against a gad ford and see who wins...
Torque has nothin to do with it. Both vehicles still are close to same weight. Bronco weighs slightly more with the diesel and had slightly better tires. More power from the diesel had nothin to do with the Bronco winning. Look how fast the Blazer was spining the tires, he had plently of power and torque.
Weight and traction is the name of the game. As long as you have enough power to spin your wheels atleast a little you could possibly win. I am going to college for Diesel Tech, I know how much torque a diesel has. Just because a engine has more torque than another don't mean it will out pull another engine back to back. Thats like saying if you put a Cummins in a S10 it will outpull anything. But it wont, it doesn't have the traction or weight.
The 6.2 is a gutless, unreliable turd. The Bronco would hold it's own against a 6.2 even if the Bronco was gas only. Which brings to mind.....what motor did you swap into the bronco because there is no such thing as a factory diesel Bronco?
I have seen a couple of diesel broncos with the ford duratorq engine, and another with cummins used on rams. gotta mention I live in costa rica, central america where gas guzzlers are not welcome for a million reasons, any car that is really used for something must be a diesel
Here in the United States where the Bronco originated, there were no diesels used. There were no diesel Bronco's imported to the U.S. either and the hick in this video most definetly has the sound of a Southern U.S. citizen so the Bronco in the video is 100% not a stock Bronco if it has a diesel in it.
Not all are unreliable. Sure there will be a few every now and again that last a while but for the most part the 6.2 is an absolutely GUTLESS, unreliable boat anchor. I've owned a truck with the 6.2 and a Ford with the same vintage 6.9 and I still drive my truck that has the 6.9. The 6.2 in the 86 k20 went the way of the buffalo.
If they are soo unreliable, then why did the US Military only use 6.2's in their hummers and Chevy blazers? Any vehicle will last a long while if it's taken care of. If anything the ford 6.9L diesel is the worst diesel engine I've ever heard people complain about.
Ohh, we complained about the 6.2, the old 6.2 HMMWVs were the slowest vehicles we have ever used, and they overheated alot, and generally didnt run to long, the 6.5 wasnt much better either. Our shops old F450 Roleback has a 6.9 with an ATS turbo, with 320,000 miles, and doesnt give us a problem

you're defense was ford took out loans before the recession hit so they took responsibility for their own actions instead letting tax payers pay their tab and clean up their mess... what chevy and dodge did would be no different than you and me drinking in the same bar me pissing on the floor in the bathroom and leaving with out paying my tab and the bar owner making u clean up my mess and pay my tab. that is why i will never buy a chevy or dodge again

ok lets take a look at this i have a 2003 single cab chevy silverado and my boss who i do lanscapin with has a 2006 ford f350 and when we load our tractor on the 20ft bed with its bucket forks,and power rake it weighs about 3 tons,and when its hookd to either truck why can i get it moving faster,point proven...FORDS SUCK

I see about 2 Fullsize blazers PER YEAR here up north on the road, the rest are in the junkyards. I see about 5 Fullsize Broncos on the road DAILY still going strong. Also, the Bronco came out in 1966 and the blazer wasn't until 1969 so how do you figure the blazer has been out longer?
