XD well.....even if she walks slow you can't say her brain is slow! Actually i'm pretty impressed. iv'e seen horses absent mindedly fiddle w/ thier gates and accidentally get them open but she was on a mission she knew exactly what she was doing!

haha, smarty pants! That's too cute. One of hte horses at our barn does this in just two quick motions! But he just stands there after he opens it, like he's just letting us know he can do it! And I like that set up you have. I just love it when horses have their stalls connected to runs or paddocks; it's so much better for them then being in a stall for the majority of the day. =D

Just for fyi, the barn is inside the paddock, no need for her to stay in, other than keeping her from eating the other horse's grain at feeding time. And, yes, I can lock the bottom or top if she needs to stay in. Also.....Miss would be unlikely to ever run at a show, she's like a faithful puppy at my side...the beauty of Belgian mares.

@leadmare56 Unless I'm mistaken it looks like those latches can take clips, you see there's a bottom one too. I'm sure they can secure her in there when they aren't around.
