I love Frankie & Maze. This is a beautiful song. I just love to see them perform. They are so underrated!!! BTW [McKinley "June Bug" Williams RIP 9/03/2011]. Thanks for informing us genobibb.
@mareikura20 Frankie's much more better and more successful while putting in the same amount of time as George has. The only thing George has that he doesn't is a grammy. But you are entitled to your opinion
I seen them in Chattanooga,TN Sept 2 2011 what a show im a Sir Charles fan but i love Maze. RIP JUNEBUGG may the LORD bless your spirit can't wait 2 meet you. Frankie didn't play the guitar here only keyboard on 1 song. The show ended and started back up 4 2hrs 45mins we got our monies WORTH. Plus Jay Lamont is a funny character.
Rest in peace McKinley "June Bug" Williams, Frankie Beverly's best friend of 40+ years. He died yesterday (September 3, 2011). He is the one to Frankie's right with the black shirt on. He is also the one saying at the beginning of this video. "Look here New Orleans, let's Feel the feeling way up there y'all c'mon"
@genobibb Actually, June-Bug is on left side (black shirt, white pants and eyeglasses) - playing cowbell and percussion. The one on the right is Roame Lowry on congas. Couple of my friends recently went to June-Bug's funeral
@solesirching73 you need to re-read my comment, I said the "June Bug" is to Frankie's right, which is our left looking at it from the computer. Brother Roame is to Frankie's left and our right. Those two originals have been in their same position throughout the history of the band
I was blessed to see Frankie & Maze back in the 70's in Oakland. They were awesome. I'm so happy that they stil perform for the younger generation can see quality music last forever.
Durham NC was off the hook last night at DPAC Perfomance Arts Center,Maze left the funk all over the stage...Frankie ends the show with "I want to thank you-Jesus"If you were not there you missed a spiritual treat. That was the first time I saw him praise God in the spirit and cry.The whole crowd was lifted!

I just saw Frankie and Maze this past Saturday January 15th in Los Angeles, it was my 28th time seeing this group in concert. Frankie and Maze still know how to rock the stage and crowds to this day. If you have never seen Maze in concert, I believe it is a must to be put on your bucket list. If Maze is within a 500 miles radius of where you live, it is worth every mile and every penny to see this wonderful wonderful group

Maze and Frankie Beverly in New Orleans is one of the best live albums of all time, but it's been almost 20 years since they last put out something new.Fellas please go into the studio and record a new album, much love.

Wasn't this on a album? I remember hearing this on the radio when they would actually play something like this on the radio. Love Frankie Beverly and Maze. Saw them in concert in Pittsburgh many years ago. Always had a crush on Frankie.
des Instants comme ça une rytmique sa joues le top en plus bien black quoi les rois et merci à vous le rytme dans la peau et sa fais vibré..........................
In response to 15foots post, you are so right if you want tickets to their show you almost have to camp outside the ticket office the night before. My wife and I went to see them in 2005 at the Hampton JazzFest. I went to the ticket office the next day after they announced the line up and the only seats left were in the upper mezz on the far right. Worst seats in the house, but they still bought the house down as usual. Let's hope they build a better venue down there.
I just my blackberry storm and was mad as hell....turned on frankie beverly and maze and all that stuff melted away. He changes lives... his music is outstanding greatest band ever. It goes Frank, earth wind and fire, and then the gap band. Does anyone know when they are coming to atlanta?
Maze tickets are still a hot item. They just went on sale at 10am and by 3:00 this afternoon they only had seats upstairs in the mezz section for the Hampton Jazz Fest in June and that is almost 3 months away!! Maze will never get old just Keep it Coming I LOVE IT&ALWAYS WILL!!
i have always said that Maze was the Black man's Grateful Dead. Why. We know the concert songs in order. Every word. Every ad-lib from Frankie. Every story about them getting their big break from Marvin Gaye. It does not matter. We LOVE the product. The product sells. Not the glam and stage shows of today. Maze sells out all the time and they do not have new record out at all.
Went to see other acts,at the forum in L.A. in 1985.Didnt really want to stay and hear them.I almost made the worst mistake of my life.I have no doubt been their biggest fans since???
i cant even say enough....best band period, class of their own, Love love love Maze and Frankie, look at him jam to his own ish!! he is really feelin it! that is what i love, they love it tooooo!!! goooo!!!!!
Not wanting to be one of those train spotting DJs ,,,,I used to include this VERY LIVE Track in my late night club program a lot, along with George Benson On Broadway and many other good tunes, Funny thing is people still ask me what it is , obviously because they have heard it many times in their lives. Shame thats its just on a list now as Needed essential track to be played to audience XYZ.
Hey Petecus88 I went to a Parliment concert in DC several years ago and there were more whites than blacks I was shocked but we all funked together that just goes to show you that it dosen't matter what color you are the art of music is that it is universal there is no color attached to choice of music and the listening ear that is the catalyst to the movement of your soul. Music is what brings the world together.
i saw them twice in holland, where i'm from, at least 20 years or more ago. both times it was like they where not from this planet, just UNBELIEVABLE... MAZE is the BOMB...
well this was more than 20 years ago.know that beacause they arrived here in hamburg(germany) 2 hours late, coming from holland.i still remember. over here i had them "open air" in the park. still the best concert of my live.greetings to holland!
Aww Bless ya heart y'all. Agree w/ nekibob. Saw them at a Kool Jazz Festival in Orlando 1980 (on Air Force leave.) And just saw them 11/13/09 in Columbia, SC...talk about good luck on Friday the 13th. My God the man is 63 yrs young. The Koger Center was packed. It was a musical pilgrimage. One of the most underrated yet largely appreciated "bands" (you know cats that play instruments...none of that fabricated computer sh_t.) Thank you Maze f. Frankie Beverly for the years of pleasure
Saw them at the Hampton JazzFest 2005 in Hampton, Va. And Oakland, Ca while on leave in the Army 1983. they never change Thank God!!!!!!! Greatest band to ever take the stage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw Maze in Savannah around 5 yrs back & it was funny cause i was the only white person at the auditorium literally. There were all these old school cats up in the place and heres this funny looking white guy. It was funny, I stood out like a sore thumb. Maze was the bomb though!!
I loved maze/frankie beverly ever since i was a little girl (im 24 now). My dad was always blastin their music on stereo on his off days. I love that down home clean feelin that their music give off. I think ima find the maze dvd and give it to my pops for xmas!!
My father used to play these songs in the house and the car along with many others like EWF(earth, wind and fire)
Im soooo glad i was exposed to this kind of music!!! There is a reason they call it soul, because thats exactly where it goes!!!
This is true feel good music, there will never be another time like the 80s.... just wish i could have experienced it first hand.... how happy do these people look??
This was back in the days when you had neighborhood record stores. Back then the bands like Maze, Parliament, the Gap Band... And others would show up in your hood to sign autographs and meet the fans before the concerts. Man, Im glad i grew up thru the 70's and 80's!
Oh man I love this video...seeing the audience ecstatically dancing. Their music is so good that even the white audience member are dancing too.......It's great seeing music like this bringing people together. This was America in a kinder and gentler time...before Reagan, Bush, crack and sleazy politicians ruined this nation.
Notice nobody was sitting on their asses... Old school baby, at it's best.

Wasn't this on a album? I remember hearing this on the radio when they would actually play something like this on the radio. Love Frankie Beverly and Maze. Saw them in concert in Pittsburgh many years ago. Always had a crush on Frankie.

You can compare the Commadores/Kool and the Gang/Cameo/EWF to one another but what other band sounds like Maze. They're in a league of their own

Stepper7023 you hit dead on the head. For those true Maze fans, WEy are fanatical. WE love them unconditionally!
mariah1257 1 year ago 2
i have always said that Maze was the Black man's Grateful Dead. Why. We know the concert songs in order. Every word. Every ad-lib from Frankie. Every story about them getting their big break from Marvin Gaye. It does not matter. We LOVE the product. The product sells. Not the glam and stage shows of today. Maze sells out all the time and they do not have new record out at all.

In that time ( '78) was hard to find good music in this f... place. (......Italy....)
They has been, are and will be number one for me for ever

I grew up listening to this.. im 19...
