  • Great job guys. You're good role models :)

  • You guys are beautiful. Thank you for showing us how you too are challenged with a budget and yet are doing everything you can to conserve energy, money and natural resources. Keep it up!

  • Thank you for a good compilation of energy saving ideas. We have found that we still get good results when washing our clothes in cold water to save energy. In our home the biggest phantom loads were electronic devices. Our DVD player, for example, draws 11 watts of electricity when it is on to play a movie, so about 22 watt-hours to watch a movie. It draws 3 watts of electricity when off, for 22 hours/day, so 66 watt-hours/day, or 3 times as much when it is OFF as when we are actually using it!

  • when you can afford it, you'd LOVE a front loading washer!! way water efficient and spins more water out so they dry faster. try 60 in the winter and 82 in the summer- you'll really feel energy-efficient! thanks for getting the message out. oh, plant trees around your house- you'll feel cooler in about 10 years! hee hee! although a wisteria on a pergola will only take about 3 or 4 years!

  • Great simple steps anyone can take. I started small and now have grid tied solar and solar hot water as well as energy star appliances. It's good for you and the planet.

We also eat more veggies and fruit. It also very good for you and the planet. My bicycle is the most efficient vehicle in the world.
