  • The Five Blobs were singer Bernie Knee who also did the Chicken Fat song, the demo for the song Sealed With a Kiss, and some early duet with Carole King of a couple of Jack Keller songs.

  • @Lonesomeswan Even I was surprised that there's a Karaoke track for that song.

  • Q rico el mambo > > (^.~)< <

  • the baby's from yucatan mex ,play this song, lovely too.

  • @Torbravside At the risk of seeming unkind, Lil' Wayne ain't got sh*t on sh*t.

  • Believe it or not, there is a KARAOKE track of this song. I'm very tempted to sing this one, along with the theme to Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes (which there is also a track for, and which I HAVE performed), for a "Karaoke B-Movie Double Feature"!!!

  • @Torbravside No kidding!

  • because of this movie and song I have an irrational fear of Jello!

  • Such danceable music.

  • Steve McQueen was 28 when he played a teenager in this film. His girl in the film was Aneta Corsaut, who is best known for playing Helen Crump on The Andy Griffith Show. Surprisigly, this song was written by Burt Bacharach, of all people and was, at the time, a big hit in the USA. Nobody even saw the film until McQueen became a big hit on the TV series "Wanted Dead or Alive"

  • The Blob. (La Burbuja) Tema de la pelicula "La mancha Voraz". de 1958. Protagonizada por Steve McQueen.

  • @TheJavierm7 I thought it was fluido mortale! lol

  • Steve Mcqueen bought his first Triumph TR6 from Bud Ekins with the proceeds from this flick...

  • Always loved this record and indeed it was one guy overdubbed.

    Wayne

  • 7 people were eaten by the Blob.

  • i like this movie mostly because the teenagers are the heroes.

  • Good song :D

  • Svengoolie said that the five blobs were really just one guy singing. :)

  • I always heard this song was written by Paul Simon

  • It's The Blob!,It's Unbelievable,Unstopbule Nothing Can Stop It! Not Even A Boy With Jellybeans Can Stop it! Not Even Protonpacks Can Defeat It! Where Is Chuck Norris When You Need Him?!!...Nvm We Got Steve McQueen!!!! It's All Good! xD

  • awsum- my mom had the 45

  • This calmed me down, I love it.

  • How can you not love this song?

  • ...Interesting!

  • que bonita melodia

  • I wonder if Rob Zombie's remake will have a redone version of this. I think it could transfer over perfectly to his style of music.

  • @Ramirezoid rob zombie said he is going to redo the song

  • I wish I live when they made music like this<3

I wish I was in your bio class!

  • @nakedaquabat LMAO!!! Me too!!! My husband keeps looking at me like I'm high!!!

  • lol this is awesome, what a terrific period piece (and that movie was pretty cool too)!

  • Excellent video! Everyone loves the Blob, thank you thank you for posting full song!

  • Hehehe.... personally I give this song the Spamzer Prize for Jolliest Happiest Wierdest Non-Suitable Intro Song for a Scary Movie! Hahaha... no kidding, it really made me think "what the...?" and I thought I either rented or they gave me the wrong movie. The thought disappeared after the meteorite scene.

Completely away from that, it's a really cool tune for a great movie! Perfect for those halloween nights with my friends watching old 50's clasics :D

  • GGe47, I also had this record back in 58 on a 45. But I also remember that I bought another version just about the same time but instead sung by "The Zanies". Not sure which version I liked better, but I remember that one of the differences was the sound of the "pop" that the singers make. It seems that on the Zanies version they made a more drawn out sound.

  • Pardon me but Burt wrote this with Hal's brother Mack in 1958.

  • Did anyone know that Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote this song?

  • I LOVE this. Very hot saxophone.

  • I used to have this record when I was 11 in 1958.Recognize it from this picture.

  • Do you remember what the B side was?

  • TWB 'Saturday Night in Tijuana'

  • Thanks for telling us.I remember playing it and it had Tijuana in the name, but I couldn't remember the entire name.

  • I love this it's the happiest scary song I ever heard....

  • Oh man this is great! Thanks for the post. Now I just gotta download this somewhere.

  • Use FLV to MP3

  • been looking for this like crazy! thanks for posting

  • Fantastic ! !

  • Awesome post, thx!

  • This song is loved.

  • this should be rosie o'donnell's theme song.

  • LOL!!! Her and "ORCA WINFREY" Sorry I don't mean to detract from your funnier line... LOL!!

  • this is a mexican folk song, not Tequila, there's another old song with the same melody.

  • Yeah that's right The guy who works in my kitchen is from Acapulco and he says it's an old "Saturday night song". According to him he used to go surfing and he'd hear it all the time but never thought to ask what it was called. He said he'd check into it. BTW he appreciated the sentimental value as to the question of the song....

  • Yes, it is a Mexican song, but I cannot find it anywhere. Burt Bacharach wrote the lyrics but the whole arranement is Mexican. I wish Okra Winfrey would do a show on it!

  • The Greatest Monster Movie Ever Made And One Of The Greatest Motion Pictures Of All Time!!!!!!!! 8D

  • I have no idea who the saxophone player is on this, but whoever he is, I salute him. He sure can bend those notes!

  • His name is(...was?)Bernie Nee- a Columbia recording artist; He was the sole performer on the recording, which was recorded at the end of the summer of 1958. This guy Nee was a much used studio artist who never hit the top 40 recording under his own name.(source-Rhino)

  • my local odies radio station always plays this on Halloween and of course everyone in my office sings along.

  • hahaha, what is this?! This well sexy.

  • There is an old mexican song with the same tune but different words.

  • Not "Tequila", but it makes you think of it. Completely different, but it brings it to mind for many.

  • I've seen this flick so many times over the years, and remember that theme song very, very well. It hit #33 on the pop charts in 1958, believe it or not. Not an easy record to find, by the way.
