  • This is lovely.

  • I,ll take Carole Lombard over Marilyn Monroe anyday....

  • Carole was so beautiful and talented.

She will always be real Hollywood.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • a genius at comedy and drama, a great beauty--one of our classic screen actresses. I would have liked to met her--down to earth, fun.

  • @windstorm1000 I agree, she was awesome gal, I wish I would of met her as well!!! :)

  • Carole was, in my opinion, the most beautiful and talented actress to ever grace the silver screen.

  • music is all wrong Cole Porter

  • @parisel313 I had another song for this but had to change due to YT copyright stuff!

I had James Blunt's "Beautiful" I had to pick from YT's selection

  • Cable and Lombard both smoke a lot...Or am I mistaken? that kind of smoking did clark in...I wonder how long Carol would have lasted.

  • did Carole and Clark have any kids???

  • @TheCharmingPhoenix No, I wish they did, they would of been beautiful!! They tried many times...but Carole had a problem concieving-poor girl!!! :(

  • @jennifer1003 aww, that is so sad. i wish they could've too :) they were a lovely couple

  • @jennifer1003 - would have indeed!

  • @jennifer1003 She had a miscarriage.

  • @TheCharmingPhoenix - No, sadly. I guess it was Carole who was unable to give birth since we know of two children from Gable. It's sad, but in a way i think it would have been so hard to grow up without her, have to see Dad marry that "Lady Sylvia" person. There are pix of the Gables at Johns Hopkins and the gossip mags said they were there to do some sort of fertility tests but i'm not sure what all existed in 39-40. I think they were greatly sad but loved each other so much, that helped

  • An excellent video from Breton2Robert called: Sensuous, Softly Sultry Carole Lombard

  • @makingslides Thank you I will check it out!! :)

  • There is this nice new video from Breton2Robert called: Sensuously, Softly Sultry Carole Lombard. Nice piece of work

  • Did she get killed in a plane crash and was from Indiana?

  • Yes she died on Jan 16th 1942 in an airplane crash with her Mom & friend (& Gable's) on board. Crashed into Mt. Potosi Mountain aka Table Rock Mtn. in Nevada. She was just 33.

And she was from Fort Wayne, ID She is one of my favorite actresses & off screen as well-what a gal she was!!

  • jennifer1003- The song is fine, almost perfect...

Thank you for doing such a terrific job on the video. It was much fun to watch! I don't think most people realize just how many picture she made and more importantly, what a star she was! Moreover, most also do not realize she was the first American female casualty of WWII - thank again. -C. Luciano

  • Thank you so much! She was a lady who can do many things, & was always willing to help out for a good cause-she made friends very easily, cause she was fun, kind, & had a great sense of humor. From what I have read about her & seen on bios, she was loved by most everyone & will & still is...surely missed! She was a modern lady in in that era, she just that style & attitude about her! That's why a lot of actresses look at her work today! And admire her for it!

  • Thank you very much. I have been an avid fan of both Lombard and Gable since 5 years old...

I wish through the years it was emphasized more how she died for our country. She was a great American, out on the road selling wars bonds, until her plane crashed. She gave up a terrific life, a wonderful husband to serve her country.

I will remember her as being talented, funny, beautiful and most of all Patriotic till the end.

Thank you again for the memories!

    HJLuck

  • How old was she when she passed on?

  • @jenii84 34ys

  • Thank you for letting me know. :)

  • 33 yrs old, she just turned 33 that October of 1941 1908-1942 Always remembered for acting, friendships & her what she did for our country by selling a little over 2MILLIOn dollars-they expected about maybe 500K-but Carole brought 'em in!!

I just wish she would of taken the train that night, instead of flying!! That always upsets me. God rest her & all on board that very sad & tragic night in the cold Mts. of Nevada 1-16-42

  • thank you--it was very nice. Some beautiful images and clips of her--always a joy to look at.

  • Wonderful video!

  • Thanks for a wonderful video. I watched a video, now removed from yt cuz of copyright laws, but leaving an indelible mark on my heart with background musice, "There You'll Be." Really nice.

  • why would you play this music over the audio of the scenes?

  • I had to change the music, YT took down the original song i had, so I had to pick something from thier list of songs-which was very difficult. I had to try & find a song that ya know...suit her. I had James Blunts song on first. SO i had to use this song from another artist that was allowable.

  • Very good, thank you but I could have done without the James Blunt background singing! I am British and anti Army/Military alltogether but James Blunt is one person where I would make an exception to my beliefs - he should have stayed in the Army and progressed with his Military career and thus been prevented from "singing" to us - I don't like his "singing" at all! Neverthelses, nice video - thank you so much!!!

  • Happy belated 100th birthday Carole Lombard!

  • so so so beautiful!

  • What a time and what a life they lived in those days. No wonder everyone wants to be a movie star (though it will never be like that again). Film makers of today have lost sight of the fact that FANTASY is a great part of entertainment, a major part of it actually. Now it must be "reality" in the movies and on TV. If I want fucking reality, I can go to the Kroger or Wal-Mart. Now THAT'S reality - but it ain't entertainment!

  • I agree 100%!!

  • Una bella mujer e interesante actriz.

  • This is one of my favorites, Jennifer, you're an artist, no doubt about it. Looking forward to future videos, Barbara

  • Thank you for such a nice tribute to one of my favorite stars. Such a loss.

  • You're welocome, Yes it was a tragic loss, to Clark, the movie industry & the world!! All Clark's life he had such guilt for not going with her on the bond tour.

  • I'm feeling sad about Clark and Carole's anniversary and I had to watch this video again for the umpteenth time!

Love it and love the music, ESPECIALLY that certain word, so like Carole... Such an incredible talent and such an incredible human being! Thank you so much, Jen!

  • Thank you DARH! Yea, I know the "word", she wouldn't of minded...LOL She'd probably say something like Wow, nice f**ing video...hahahaha

  • I've been a Lombard fan since I was about 14...and I'm 50 now. I have every movie possible and have poured over all her biographical information. She is my absolute favorite from the golden age. You have done a fabulous job with this short video and the music is so very appropriate. Well done!

  • You should try the website Carole & Co. it's a fabulous site. google it or type in Carole Lombard & find Carole & Co. I so love the site, great stories & wonderful & rare pics of her too!!! Enjoy

  • Try the site Carole & Co. it's fantastic. Google it or google Carole Lombard & click on Carole & Co. great stories & pics as well!!! Enjoy it!

  • I always enjoyed old movies but I had never seen Carole Lombard act. Last night I saw her in two movies; "Made for Each Other" with James Stewart and "My Man Godfrey" with William Powell. In the first movie, her serious acting was superb and convincing. In the other movie I found her to be a great comedic actress. She had great range. The lady is gone but never will be forgotten. She was wonderful; sad we lost her so young.

  • RIP Carole! 66 yrs ago we lost you 1/16/42

    Carole Lombard Gable

    Sunrise: 10/6/08- Sunset: 1/16/42

    To a remarkable woman!!

  • yes, remarkable... Did you add new video to this one Jenn?

  • She and William Powell were married. The had a mutually agreeable divorce. Powell was more the stay at home type while Carole enjoyed a more active lifestyle. After their divorce, they remained close friends. They had both accepted that they weren't cut out to be married to one another. Of course Powel was engaged to Jean Harlow when she died at such a young age in 1937.

  • Just great (excellent) Jennifer!! Sure would like to know how to put one these videos together.

  • Great video & lovely song

    5 stars

    Nina

  • Thanks for the great comment Nina!!

  • Missy's song!!! lol Anyway beautiful, gorgeous, rivoting video dahling! Carole was an amazing woman. You've more than done her memory justice.

  • i love this song and vid, but the f word was so not needed.. what a jerk this Blount is.. obviously they delete on radio.

  • Yea I agree, they didn't need to add the F word in thier song! But thanks for liking the video! :)

  • jennifer, i like the version with flying high in place of f..., but just found out that beautiful Carole Lombard cussed like a sailor lol. nice work...

  • Yea, so I guess she wouldn't of minded anyway...LOL

And thank you!! That's why they called her "The Profane Angel" The face of an angel, but the mouth like a sailor!! Haha

  • What a wonderful video!! I love Carole Lombard! She was one of a kind, no one could ever compare to her, well her & Harlow-they both were great ladies!

  • Amazing video! Great Job

  • Thank you!!

  • the picture of carole at 2:01, i wanted to know who was in it with her. I know cary grant is in it but I wanted to know who the other two men are. also where is this picture from?

  • The man in the middle is Clark Gable and the other possibly Bob Hope, hard to make out.

  • The one on the far right looks like Herbert Marshall to me, not sure.

  • I own nearly all Carole's films, including Bolero on tape, I can transfer it to dvd for you if you'll contact me.

  • That's cool, but Bolero wasn't one of the videos, I had listed all the movies that are on the video! I have her Glamour Collection along with My Man Godfrey & Nothing Sacred. I just need a few more like her last few films. Thank you for the help! : )

  • I noticed a scene from Bolero. Can anyone out there find it, make a DVD, and sell millions?

  • I think Bolero is public domain. Sometimes I see copies on Ebay and you might be able to find some on the internet. ~Love this Carole video, very pretty.~

  • one of my absolute favourites ever-a superb actress.

    And a great tribute!

  • Thanks, isn't she great!!

  • she sure is!
