  • Sublime.

  • This excerpt is painfully sentimental, but the entire adagio is a magical journey through peaks & valleys. This movement fulfills the definition of absolute music. Your senses come alive and work in tandem, your imagination unleashes an almost real journey through fjørds, valleys & even caves. Unlike many of Bruckner's earlier works the 8th has no open near climaxes. This entire symphony is expansive but well-rounded.

  • Georg Tintner was the only 20th C conductor who was an authority on the music of Anton Bruckner.

  • I agree with the conductor... this is an amazing piece of work by Bruckner. The ending of this movement was truly divinely inspired.

  • @777zzzzz ...Yes, the combination of horns and strings in the coda gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. The entire movement is a masterpiece, especially the harps.

  • Great music! One of my favorite Bruckner movements.
