• when i finish university and get my own place i really want to adopt a serval i have ever since i found out about them when i was like 13 how do you go about it? and also do you have to have any requirements i.e no children or large garden etc.??

  • Great video. Love dem cats, but the music is distracting. Re-Post?

  • Kinda cute. But cats are just like dogs.. even these cats.. they need to be trained and have manners and boundaries!

  • you should do youtube live!

  • It does not look more than a year old and all ready getting agressive just wait and you will be calling the Big Cat Rescue people

  • did you clean that counter afterwards?? O_O

  • this made me CRY 0.o

  • I might have the opportunity to rescue a serval, but I'd like input from someone with experience who has no stake in giving me an animal. Can you give me any tidbits from your experiences?

  • @:49 Thank was soooo sweet.

  • without words..wonderful..

  • I think your Serval just couldn't believe it wasn't butter.

  • GOD BLESS YOU

  • How much do they eat? What food do they like? Is there any special needs they have?

  • @DoubleHeIix Lots of space to play. They are very high energy, and they can be very intimidating for most people. They hiss and growl and grunt, their ears move around alot, but this is often simply them 'talking' to you. You cannot declaw them (in fact I believe most places, if servals are allowed to be there, it is actually illegal to do so). They are not for the sedentary, as they do love to be walked, they love backyards or play pens and such. They are not really 'domesticated' animals

  • @DoubleHeIix ..continued from prior comment. While they do well in a loving, active home, they do have many more 'wild' instincts - as in being very high energy. They are nocturnal creatures primarily.

  • I'm sure they could be dangerous, but if cared for properly they are no more dangerous then a typical house cat. They seem quite a bit more intelligent too.

  • were can i get one????

  • he is FREAKING CUTE!!!!!))

  • This animal will develop diabetes on such a diet.

  • i agree anto1982

  • are they good wh dogs?

  • oh i love this cat, but the thought of it not using the litter box puts me off awww :( . plus im sure it requires lots of dedication, understanding and patience to live with such a lovely creature. i hope people consider things carefully before making such any rash decisions to get one. thanks for the info.

  • wow I thought my cat was annoying sometimes.

  • He ate all/most of your breakfast, lol.

  • I dont think my 3 servals like asking me for MY breakfast because first one grabs one piece of my egg and when I look at him another of my servals get my egg and I look at them both and the same thing and when there done they hiss at me... LOL

  • Who is washing dishes? :D

  • aww he looks so pretty and u can tell he loves u.

  • where can those cats get buyed :)?

  • where can those cat's get buyed :)?

  • He is very beautiful!!! May I ask how much was he??? I love to have one!

  • I want one:(

  • This Serval is Absolutley Beautiful! And I love the song that you added with your video, May I ask what the name of the song is and who sings it?

  • @bobthefrog24 Angelique Kidjo "We Are One"...it's in the credits of the video =]

  • What breed is it? So beautiful :)

  • hi!! i love serval but i live in singapore, so i can't keep him!!

  • English muffin taste the best :D I usually make it with an egg scramble with milk and add a kraft cheese slice mmm

  • Amazing animal

  • This is annoying to watch

  • Your serval seems very affectionate. Does she ever sit in your lap and let you pet her? She's very pretty.

  • Ah.. leave Big Cat Rescue alone. They might not share the same opinions as you, but they do great work for big cats in need!

  • dont think thats good 4 him to eat

  • you're so lucky!!! I want a serval !!!

  • :17 attack! so cute :)

  • @ Pofkam that is such a horrible thing to say....you don't know this person or what has happened to them...what if she had a husband that recently died...how miserable are you to search random youtube videos and make comments like that...seriously...get out of your parents basement...get a job...and stop being such and asshole...armchair warrior...

  • agreed, or maybe her husband just isn't attached to the serval like she is. he could at work. my dad is asleep during the day because he litterally works at 11:00pm to 9:00am. pofkam doesn't know the reason her husband isn't in the video. this "pofkam" doesn't doesn't now crap. glad we agree on that =)

  • u're feeding a $20,000 cat England McMuffins!?!?

  • the cat isn't that expensive. servals are around $2,000. if you have one that you paid $20,000 for, than you were ripped off.

  • His collar looks tight!!. Is that a good diet for him? why isn't he making more little servals? isnt he an endangered species yet with all the fighting and habitat destruction in Africa?

  • why isn't he free and being a serval?

  • servals aren't endangered. servals actually behave well when they get treats like this. she probably doesn't feed him this all the time. maybe this is something he gets once in a blue moon for being good.

  • that cat would have only slapped at my face one time..then he would have learned his lesson

  • if you mean hitting it back, then you would be in a bit of a pickle. servals like it when ou fight back because they think you're playing.

  • he/she would tell by the tone in my voice and my body language that i wasn't playing..don't get me wrong..i love animals..and don't hurt them..but i will make sure it knows who is boss...now playful hit to my hand would be ok and fun and i would play all day with the cat.. :-)

  • you could yell, hit, or kick a million times, and it would only have 2 effects.

one:the Serval thinks you playing. it doesn't matter about body language. it will attack. if you really know about these animals that you would agree

two:the Serval get really scared to the point that it will never be near you and will try to defend them-selves when you are near. servals think you want to cause it real harm if you constantly hit it for begging or playing. you shouldn't rough house either

  • mmmm...i like to play with animals...but i surely dont want to scare him

  • I wouldn't have imagined a cat liking bagels and cream cheese. But then again, my dog loved Heinz Hamburger Dill pickles, carrots and french fries, so go figure.

    Really beautiful spotty cat, though.

  • yo that cat punched you in the face!

  • so sexyy i want a serval or serval f5 mix

  • wow, beautiful serval! I want an F1 or F2 Savannah but i live in Georgia and practically every pet and their mother are illegal here. poop :(

gotta get out of this state!! lol

  • I love this video

  • It seems you have done a good job with this "WILD" animal, but need I remind everyone the tons of domesticated animals that are homeless & die in shelters everyday!!!!!! ADOPT at animal shelters, leave the "WILD" in the WILD!!!

  • I hope you realize that a lot of these "WILD" animals are actually adopted from shelters as well. I definitely recommend adopting animals from shelters rather than buying from pet stores, as I have volunteered at shelters before. I know several people with wild animals at their house and they also have adopted several domestic animals as well.

  • Have you trained him or has he trained you?

  • @PinkPunkyKat

Bread for a serval? You should have taken out meat... I raised a serval we both know if the meat comes out what happens... Servals are not pets!

  • I love the headbutt at 0:49! So cute!

  • Oh and furthermore, I don't think it's dirty. You fed him his piece and you ate yours. That's way better than I am-- My cats just walk up and bite my food with a great sense of entitlement.

  • my cats all love to do this! they eat everything. last night they even ate asparagus...and my black one taught herself to delicately shell soy beans and eat corn. the youngest kitten loves bread and muffins.

  • ^.^ my kitty steals my food too dont feal bad :P

  • AAAAAUUUURRRRRGGGGHHHHH that is too cute!!!

  • Nice soundtrack! Is it from Lion king? Good apeitite to you both!

  • 0:49 - 0:53

    so fcking cute.!!!

  • D: das a big kitty!

  • Serval eating human food??

That's very unusual, coz they usually only eat meat and fish. I can't imagine a serval eating starch.

  • how could i get a serval cat? maybe an 51 or f2 breed? i really want a pure serval but i dont have the money.

  • F1 costs 2 - 5 times as much as a serval.

  • A serval is cheeper the a hybrid, and much nicer. $2000-$2500 is what you will probubly pay for one, which is not to bad, considering they live long, 20+ years and are just amazing. Hybrids can cost up to $5000, maybe even more.

  • But Servals cost much more to feed, and there's always the chance you may need emergency vet bills if they eat something. They also tend to never be 100% litterbox trained, while savannahs are tought by their domestic moms to use the litter box, and dont eat as much and can be fed regular high quality pet food.

  • Although knowing this, I still want a serval when I can afford to take care of it :)

  • leave lisa alone okay! she's having fun with her serval cat kobi!! and she also is a vet work thats how she got him

  • i got a serval like that its cost like 2.500+ (baby)

  • 4;54 Scary!

  • are they safe to have as pets or is there a risk

  • All pets have risks. And yes, a serval can f you up if it wants to.

  • I've bought 3 of them for 2,300 each. they run 1,500- 3,500 hope i helped.

  • wow hes a big boy

  • I'm not an expert, but I don't think you should be feeding a wildcat english muffins. Their normal diet is raw meat.

  • Read the thread...

  • how much does a cat like that cost?

  • can u feed it cat food

  • I wish the brain dead people who believe everything Big Cat Rescue says would watch this and see that Servals aren't dangerous.

  • @anto1982 dude any animal from hamsters to lions are dangerous lol

  • @anto1982 some are! These animals are capable of biting through bones. This one is trained. But you will most likely get very hurt if you just out of the blue get a wild one.

  • @anto1982 Amen.

  • lol beautiful! I want one, but I know when I'd be in over my head! too much pretty cat!

  • haha! well well, thats like my kitty, hes just a normal tabby orange cat, but he will paw at my food, essp. salad when i try to eat =(

  • Great cat. But I'll never understand why people let them get on the counter or table. I mean they walk into their toilet, scratch around and then jump on your counter where you prepare food or on the table where you eat it. Would you take a dump in the toilet stir it up and then go make a sandwich without washing your hands?

  • i heard there expensive

i would like to adopt one lol there so beautiful

  • You have a wonderful relationship. He looks very dedicated to you. My savannah's daddy is a serval. Not everyone can deal with bigger cats. you did well.

  • if i was to actually b prepared to raise such a critter, would it make an affectionate pet?

  • thats a big kitty

  • That's cute how he tried to claw your eyes out at the end... God bless that little hell spawn :^)

  • He is gorgeous! I have a cub that is being born in the next couple weeks that I am purchasing. Fingers crossed that everything goes well, we all know how things can go wrong! Especially with a serval breeding!

  • That's crazy awesome. I want one, lol.

  • Ooooh! Beautiful cat

  • LOL! I kept expecting him to hop up on your shoulders when you were turned away spreading your muffin!

He really is a beauty! And the way he keeps grabbing the bag is so funny! "No! It's mines!"

  • This had nothing to do with your cat but I have to tell you what beautiful kitchen cabinets you have!

  • absolutely beautiful cat!

  • I once knew a guy who kept an Ocelot as a pet. I like domestic cats, even aggressive, bitchy ones, and I am willing to take a nip here and a scratch there for the pleasure of their company, but the Ocelot made me very nervous. It just seemed too dangerous. Do Servals have the musculature, claws, teeth to be that kind of dangerous to people?

Thanks for the post. Beautiful animal.

  • he attacks you? 4:56

  • makes my Bengal look like an ordinary mutt!

  • That's amazing!

  • Your cat is gorgeous<3

  • You may wanna ask Spotsallover more about that

  • omg please give me the site to order one of these cats plz!

  • They get 20 to 50 pounds but Each and Everyone of them is different looking in marks on their faces

  • Here is my African serval helping me fix my, no, OUR breakfast of English muffins. He's normally very picky about only eating his food, but....

He is Not a Bobcat, Kobi is a 100% African Serval Wildcat he is a native animal

  • is that a bobcat?

  • No, African Serval

  • how tame is a serval say to a house cat. i see its bigger and has a little more strength but how tame and domesticated are they....

  • I really, really love the adorable headbutt and rub the serval gave you at 0:50! That cat is so beautiful, omg.

  • Beautiful cat. Pareceu-me que você falou português brasileiro em um ponto. :)

I have two Maine Coons, they are quite smaller, but very tender and lovely like your Serval. I understand that Servals can get very destructive in the house, don't they?

  • Maine Coon= Domesticated

    Servals= Wild Animal(will spray everywhere)

  • They are very destructive...not intentionally but he plays with things that, well, have to be replaced afterwards. lol

They do not use the litter box instinctively like domestic housecats so urination in the house is a problem.

  • Few things on the planet more rewarding than being owned by a cat... well done! :)

  • Beautiful relationship between the two of you. I had to laugh when the two of you were wrestling over the plastic bag. I go through that with my girl, Callie, on a daily basis, lol. Especially grocery bags. She wants to see what is in every bag. :o)

  • beautiful animal, but looks like a full time job to keep him..

  • Your reason for getting this animal shouldnt be becaus it " sick" or " cool". Its like saying you want it because you want to show it to your friends.

  • HERMOSO!!!!

  • What i want to know is it safe to owne on, people say there to wild and can go crazy and claw your face of, id actually like to talk to an owner of one and get some more details

  • talk to a breeder if your serious about getting one they will have the answers you seek....well they will if they are a breeder you would actually want to buy from

  • yeah how can u get them in Canada?? what a siiick animal!

  • where can i get one in Canada?

  • Do you have to have a permit to keep it? "Gunju221"

  • In most places.

  • They're banned in California.

  • This is the best of ur videos

  • Haha my bengals do that all the time. great video

  • Are they legal in CAlifornia?

    anyone knows?

Please let me know I want one!

  • No they are not legal in California, sorry. Actually ALL exotics from ferrets to tigers are banned in your state.

  • You should try feeding your serval from your mouth, thats the wild way. Your so lucky to have one, wish I could afford one : )

  • It seems like you'd have to be a very patient person to own one of these cats. But he looks really happy and comfortable with you (:

They're really nice looking but I know I wouldn't be able to handle one.

  • My savannah is totally just like that. He will tear into a plastic bag of bread if given the opportunity. He's so naughty, but you gotta love it!

  • Love the Lion King music.

  • Beautiful! I have an F4 Savannah named Uno. Always wanted a Serval, nice Headbut he gave you too! gotta love that!

  • Wow what a beautiful animal.

  • hi could you tell me if serval is part domestic cat and if is what is the name?

  • No, Servals are fully wild stock. Savannahs come from interbreeding Servals and domestic cats, and Bengals are the product of domestic and Asian Leopard mating.

  • thats what your not supposed to do to exotic cats because you food is unhealthy for them, and it traines them to want your food, not theirs

  • He doesn't usually eat people food. He is extremely picky about his food. Although he appears in the video to be willing to eat the whole muffin, in reality, he won't. I just feed him very small bites in order to keep him interested. In fact, he usually tells me that my food is not fit for even me to eat it as he trys to attack it and beat it to death.

  • i love your cat. he's beautiful!

  • I would never find Kobi frustrating, as I happen to live with a domesticated descendant of servals. Great personality, much like my Spike-man. Dunno what Kobi planned to do with the muffins after he got them. It's like, "Ha! I got your muffins! Err... now what....?" Would they attempt to urinate/psray/deficate in water, similar to a bengal? Is that possible? It sounds silly but if possible, toilet training could solve spraying.

  • He doesn't squat to urinate but stands instead. It takes a tall rubbermaid container to keep him from peeing over the litterbox.

  • I think the only way that I personally could live with a serval and keep everybody 100% happy would be to have a really gigantic outdoor enclosure that is heated, with a roof, and plenty of shade and things to do. And I'd have to have a big enough backyard where this, and my family/friends will all fit. Maybe like an extension off of a house or something... I'm starting to get more comfortable with people keeping them as pets now, but it should be a rare sight.

  • WOW, is she ever gorgeous!! I'm soo fascinated by these cats. And does she ever love you, that is precious. I'm a subscriber now. Thanks for sharing.

    Rachel

  • Kobi is a boy. He is very fascinating to deal with but just as frustrating also. He is very clever and outsmarts me most of the time. He just doesn't understand that the rules of the house were meant to protect him not limit his fun.

  • SHe's beautiful. and yu can tel she loves u very much. They are banned in Australia for the time being. :(

    nice song whats the name?

  • "We Are One" from Lion King.

  • I love all your videos of your Serval. He/She seems so friendly. I'm on a waiting list to get one. Can you give me your opinion, both pros and cons...I want more than a breeders opinion

  • They are very difficult to keep as housepets. They want to chew on everything and are very destructive. It's like a 90 lb dog chewing on everything but they are harder to discourage than a dog. They also do not have good litterbox habits. Mine uses his most of the time (80-90%) but when a 30 lb cat pees wherever he wants to it makes a mess and destroys furniture, carpet, etc.

  • these wild cats are so smart,i'm dying to get one!

  • My 65% F1 is super demanding as well. Last time I was trying to prepare a steak she ended up with half of it. Though, shes not as nice about it as your serval. hahaha I fear for my life if I tell her no. hehe j/k

  • I am considering getting a serval or F2 Savannah and would love your opinion on owning one both pros and cons.Based on your videos you appear to have a lot of knowledge.

    Thanks for your time

  • I would recommend a Savannah. They are more expensive in the early generations but savannahs have the litterbox habits of a domestic cat and are much easier to care for.

  • wow i never seen like this animal stay for food long time servals r soo good i like it so and she wass good person she know how to take of nimals thats grad world

  • He knows basic obedience: come, sit, stay. They are very smart.

  • BEAUTIFUL! And so clever and sweet. Someone really knows how to get his way♥

  • for people with questions i am in love with this pet though never saw one i have been rooting through the net for information on them and from what i read if raised properly from a baby they are very nice and have the same playfulness as a regular house cat. they sell for about 2500 USD, i dont know the legality of different states or countries but one site said they are a domestic cat raised as pets now. look up the serval called dagger to see how friendly around little kids they can be.

  • I am pretty sure they are illegal in any state without having one of those wild cat license things. They do breed servals with domestic cats to make Savannah's. From what I've read, Savannah's are alot more than $2,500 USD though. I agree, with the proper upbringing like this woman in the video, they would make a good pet. But I'm sure they require alot of attention. I think the problem is many people would not raise them correctly and we'd end up with serval strays which could be dangerous.

  • Yes, Savannah's come from Serval as Bengels come from Asian Leopards. Both exquisite, amazing breeds. F1's being the direct offspring from a Serval/Domestic. Breeding and F1 with a domestic gives you an F2 and so forth. The further away you get from the wild the bigger the number. F3, F4 etc...All beautiful of course and expensive.

  • There is a problem with servals ending up in rescues because their owners either could not or would not continue to care for them. They do not accept a new owner well. They bond to the people who raise them.

  • 0:50 < Adorable
