@BibleThumperMan christian bale is just like his character in this movie: he has total devotion to his art. he exploded on the set that time because he was completely in character, and was unable to get out of it. his entire life is about being the characters he portrays. for example, look at his body alone in the machinist. then look at his body in batman begins, which came out less than a year later. thats why this movie was so perfect; all three main actors were totally devoted to it.
