Talking the talk is walking the walk. He's a committed activist. He spends 5-6 hours a night responding to emails. He spends the rest of his day reading papers and journals. He somehow finds the time to give more talks than any other person that I know of. He's 80 years old. He's a millionaire? That's trivial. I don't want to speak for him, but ; From my perspective Chomsky opposes primarily concentration of capital power in the form of corporate institutions. In terms of a capitalist society where "money talks" & everything has a price , it follows that the social structures will reflect decisions, direction & purpose of those with the most capital assets.

All this being said , he's position is not a prohibition on making money , simply that that it shouldn't dictate social needs: Laws, budget etc.
