what is the temperature of the water there? i have a place on an island (in australia) where the water is 28 degrees in summer... amazing...

@chazzalinko About 28 Celsius or a little lower. We don't want it warmer than that 'cause it will generate a typhoon.

how do people there react to people (caucasians) who re-locate there from America as a teacher?

my mother is looking into this, but we live in a "rough" city and can't find any information on this. she is a very kind lady, she is divorced, and a very good teacher. any information would be much appreciated ...

@AndreasSevryn Ummmm, that's a tough question to answer. I really can't speak other people's minds but, in general, I think we treat them fairly well. It is a beautiful island. Relatively safe and lenient tax structure. Most of all, clean air. BTW, air is still free like in the US but water isn't anymore....
