  • just let the individual airport liners defend and protect their own companies... let certain hired security forces do the job.. not the federal gov... cause they seem to go far beyond what the constitution limits them to

  • Bob makes a lot of good points in this video. Airport security is getting too intrusive. I just don't enjoy flying anymore. But the big pisser-offer for me is not being able to see off or meet anyone at the gate. I HATE that you can't do that anymore.

  • Wow, what a complete dumb ass!!

First he has no clue what the hell he is talking about. There are no full body xrays being used. They are imagers, but use a type of radio wave to create the image. Working in an airport with one of these imagers, there are absolutely no images stored. Once the image is off the screen, it can NEVER be braught back. Every person is told what will happen before going into it. Everybody may decline being scanned. 90% prefer this over being touched by a stranger.

  • Full-body x-rays are a malicious violation of personal privacy, a gross insult to the traveling public, and have nothing to do with legitimate airport security.

Full-body x-rays are the classic Gestapo mentality of the TSA.

    Adolp Hitler would be proud....

    Wake up, America!

  • Yet another misinformed ingrate, that has no idea what the hell they are talking about. I guess you prefer the security officers touching you over a five second image, that then disappears into oblivion.

  • you keep your insults..

    i'll keep my privacy..

  • LOL at getting the "thrust" of Barr's comments. If anything Barr is showing us here he is a fucking liar and that all politicians are liars too! He lied back when his ugly ass was in Congress and now he is belittling TSA workers and not his fucking friends whom came up with the idea of "Homeland Security". You toilet trained fools!

  • lah, Blah, Blah. Same old whining and complaining. Everyone says TSA security is a joke, then throws a fit when anything is done to make improvements. Want to get an idea of what airport security could be, try flyin out of a european country, or Israel sometime. Sure a block of cheese is harmless, but why does it have wires wrapped around it attached to a kitchen timer running off a battery??? This is the kinds of things being found, and one day it may not be cheese.

  • You/ve obviously never flown out of Tel Aviv. The security there is less obtrusive, much quicker to get through than any similar large US airport, and much more effective. You don't take your shoes off for screening. 65 year old nuns are not made to doff their habits. The agents conduct themselves politly. And they are'nt given badges and police type uniforms to help their self esteem. TSA is a joke.

  • OK, try selling that to the people with handguns, grenades and bomb materials in their bags. Doesn't happen? Just check the news once in a while.

  • Dumbass, look at a map before you open your mouth. I was talking about Israeli security, you know, Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel! The ones's who live next door to the guys with bags of guns and grenades. You pathetic TSA Screener, people want MEANINGFUL security, not this dog and pony show that TSA puts on. Get off of youtube, Kip Hawleys calling. He wants you in the office to massage his balls again.

  • sorry dip shit, I'mtalking about the people bringing them to airports here in the US.

  • TSA fails most of their own tests. TSA only exists for 2 reasons, a welfare to work program for large cities, and to further erode Constitutional rights. My point in the previous reply is that if TSA were serious about security, they would have, from the beginning, modeled it after Israeli security. They've got the best record in the world.

  • TSA will being doing random cavity searches in 10 years.

Do you realize customs actually can do strip searches if you look too relaxed or too nervous?

  • if there was a terrorist attack tomorrow.who would this man blame first? seems rather petty and stupid compared to an IED getting on a plane no? I wonder if this man thinks the there are men(radicle muslims) plotting to attacks us now or if they just said..eh hell with it. I wonder if the public would just rather have no security? Your kids, grandkids, sisters, mothers getting on a plane that had 0 security measures in place. I ask what other soultions this man might have to make me safe.

  • Bob Barr is right on. The TSA are scumbags and traitors - we do not need them in our airports. Fire them all.

  • You're the idiot that can't read signs throughout the airport on what you can and can't bring, came up to the TSA with something you couldn't have, and get all bent out of shape when they tell you that you cannot take it. I travel alot and see it all the time and I can't help but laugh at the stupidity of some people. These people are here to protect us, and thier policies and procedures and clearly beyond anything you could ever comprehend. Its a shame though that you cant understand.

  • Unfortnately the only way to get most people to notice the signs would be to beat them over the head with it. Ever wonder why screeners are supposedly rude to passengers, just take a look at what they deal with from people every single day. Who would want to be polite to someone who treats them like crap for only doing their jobs. They don't make the policies, they are the ones you see who are required to follow those policies made in washington.

  • maynurd-Ya just don't seem to grasp the concepts being expressed by Barr. Perhaps you should listen to what he is saying. Just a suggestion.

  • I don't think you are getting the thrust of Barr's arguments.

From your statements it would appear you buy the whole security , it's for your own protection, keep you all safe bologna.

  • This guy is an idiot. The machine he is talking about is a choice. No one forces you to do anything. This guy needs to get his info correct.

  • We have good men in every part of service, whether its CIA, the Millitary, and the Police and definately within the TSA (theres another video on ex members of it) who are men of strong moral CONSCIENCE. Alongside them are men of no conscience as well as with everywhere.

If this is what we have allowed the 9/11 incident to do to us, I'd rather die then live at all because it will only get worse. It wasnt the terrorists in the planes that imposed these kinds of things on the people

  • We need to remember our heritage- Liberty or Death- I wonder if one of those TSA cretins would even understand if I told them "NOLI ME TANGERE".

  • Tell me, because even I would not understand what that means

  • Bob is right. I'm a Ron Paul Republican, and I'm going to vote for him. I'm not voting for McCain-Lieberman (denial of my gun rights), or McCain-Feingold (denial of my right to free speech) or Obama Hussein (denial of common sense) Freedom will never happen if we all pledge allegiance to mindless political parties... I'm going to give these Libertarians a chance... I believe that Stephen Gordon really did change Barr's opinion on things...

  • I find it Ironic that this man who claims to be a Strict Constructionist alludes to the belief in the 'Right to Privacy. ' 'The Right to Privacy' didn't even exist until 1965 see Griswold v. Connecticut. Before 1965, in the entire history of Constitutional jurisprudence, the Federal Government was not barred from things like warrantless wiretapping.

Griswold v. Connecticut is widely cited as one of the stalwart examples of judicial activism

  • No-way. Look at the idea of a 'penumbra', created by the existence of the other rights, and derived from them. And if you're so into strict construction, check out the ninth and tenth amendments. The 9th points out that a right's numbering or absence from the bill of rights is not intended to deny or disparage others retained by the people. You may have qualms about whether Supreme Court judicial review is then appropriate, but these are not 'MADE UP' rights, but UNDERSTOOD, IMPLIED RIGHTS!

  • Police brutality is alive and well in America. The police beat up a girl at Reagan National Airport in DC. They assaulted this girl and gave her a serious brain injury and made her entire body black and blue. Then they arrested HER and charged her with a made up crime to cover up the police brutality. The airport police and TSA are supposed to be there to protect us from terrorists, not beat up women.

  • That's standard procedure. Police think they have to charge the victim if the cops cross that line, and it seems that even make ridiculously exaggerated claims and charge with many crimes so that the person will plead down, conviction on which effectively removes their right to sue in some instances! Slick? Yes, but also wrong.

  • what or who is TSA?

  • Bob Barr 2008!

  • Don't forget about that other TSA project: the no-fly list. That is an East German-style travel restriction and has nothing to do with stopping terrorists. Why would a known terrorist be told he/she cannot fly? It is for political dissidents, people who owe back taxes to the IRS, and can be to prevent other people from flying (e.g., somebody late on a mortgage payment).

  • "It is for political dissidents, people who owe back taxes to the IRS"

--That's bullshit. I owe back taxes but I guarantee you I'm not on the 'no-fly' list.

Please stop with the "Bilderberg runs our government" Leftist bullshit.

  • First of all, I didn't mention a word about the Bilderbergers. I am talking about travel restrictions. I am sorry you are so unamerican, you don't give a damn. You are being to concrete in your thinking (i.e., just because YOU aren't on the no-fly list, then it isn't real). It is real. You realize if somebody is behind on child support they can't even get a passport? If you can't get a passport, the government doesn't even need to put you on a list.

  • "I didn't mention"

--No, but that's where you're coming from.

    "then it isn't real"

--Gee, is that what I wrote? I can't find it.

"if somebody is behind on child support they can't even get a passport?"

--I don't know about that, but I'd imagine that's about the govt doing something after 10 million complaints about deadbeat dads so they can't skip the country.

"If you can't get a passport"

--You think that's going to prevent people from leaving the country? Just like the handgun ban.

  • Too bad you don't know how to argue, Guff.

Why would a known terrorist be on a 'no-fly list'.

Think about it. Go ahead, think about it.

ARREST KNOWN TERRORISTS!!!! Don't say, 'sorry you can't fly'.

    Give me a break!

  • "Why would a known terrorist be on a 'no-fly list'."

--Why wouldn't he be? It's not only to prevent them from freely boarding planes, but also to block their progress & their plans. Every little thing helps. If someone's on a no-fly list & they're stupid enough to try to book a flight, then the authorities should be alerted. There you go. A plan in action.

"ARREST KNOWN TERRORISTS!!!! Don't say, 'sorry you can't fly'."

--Ummm...no shit. Better than saying "would you like a pillow today?"

  • OMG!! lol THAT was good! You made my day!

  • We absolutely MUST elect Bob Barr for President... The status quo must go. The USA, love it or hate it, was never meant to be this top heavy oligarchial monstrosity that it has become where the people have 24/7 government intrusion into the very fabric of our personal lives. If we elect Obabma or McCain we will live to see the desruction of privacy, the destruction of liberty within the next 20 years or sooner. Please people... WAKE UP. Barr for President, it is our only chance to change!!!!

  • Well, we can either be searched, or we can have armed police patrolling the aisles of the plane. Which would you rather have?

I don't want a 'sense' of security, I want security, because I want to KNOW that I'm going to arrive at my destination ALIVE, you jerk.

  • Guff; the problem is that these types of programs have been installed because of 9/11 yet, the hijackers got into this country with VISAs that should have set off alarms...so it wasn't the lack of security in the airline industry. Do your homework!

  • if we really and truly had full 2nd ammendment rights, then citizens and flight crew aboard the 911 flights could have stopped the terrorists.

If more people were armed, then bad guys wouldn't try to hurt us as much.

since bad guys will get guns no matter what,

the solution is a well-armed populace.

NOT getting rid of all of our guns and giving them to the government.

we all know what happens after that...

  • filmdude, in an ideal situation, you're absolutely right. But this is the real world, and guns aren't allowed on flights. So considering that, I'd prefer that even the bad guys who will get guns no matter what are stopped at the terminal with whatever weapons they have.

I'll take a page from "the Big Man's" page and say that every passenger should be issued a baseball bat upon boarding. That way, any trouble is dealt with, and no windows are shot out.

  • Why are these X-Rays needed to stop guns? Guns are very easy to spot. I think we just need to pay the people at the terminal more so we can get the best people for the job.

If anyone ever tries to hijack a flight I'm on, I'm pulling a Pennsylvania Flight 93 and putting those creeps out of commission! I'm not going to sit around and watch people get hurt.

  • "Why are these X-Rays needed to stop guns?"

--Rifles are easy to spot. Pistols are not. To find one you need to frisk someone or put them through the xray. Also there are a lot of plastic or ceramic guns that dont show up in xrays the same as steel ones. Some guns can fit in your palm.

"I'm not going to sit around"

--The airlines will actually tell you to cooperate with the hijackers. But Im with you. Like I said, every passenger should get a complimentary bat. The problem then solves itself.

  • Excellent video! Barr is exactly right! We're over half way to getting into the first debate (percentagewise)! Freedom is on the ballot, in the form of the first qualified candidate the LP has had since '88 - Barr 2008!

  • Bob hits it right on the head here. Going to the airport should not be a virtual trip to Mussolini's Italy or Stalin's USSR. The "security" show is intended to acclimate us to control by the state. Further abuses will follow.

  • I wonder if the networks will even let him debate? That is the sad part of our system. Control of the media = control of the election.

  • if he can get 10% in 3 national polls, he'll be eligible for the youtube/google polls.

  • debates i mean, not polls

  • hopefully, remember that ross perot was able to debate bush and clinton in 1992 so stay hopeful.

  • i dunno i heard some sketchy shit on his history and voting record...

  • he has stated he regrets some of his votes when he was in congress.

We all learn, Bob has learned

  • Bob Barr = Restore America.

  • Tinfoil gets great reception, did you know that? Sorta ironic lol

  • ron paul is an idea

  • Once again, Barr proves that he is the only candidate willing to speak the truth to the American people. I just hope that more people start to listen.

  • You mean the Constipation Party

  • Chuck Baldwin thinks homosexual acts should be criminalized under federal law.

  • which is why i fundamentally disagree with mr. baldwin

  • me too. By the way, I will pray (yes I am a little religious) that Bob gets on the ballot.

  • its not bad to be religious and u should be ashame to say it.. :)

    The Revolution Will Never Die!

  • He'll be on the ballot in 49 states.

  • which state is he not on the ballot?

  • Oklahoma.

Not surprising whe you look at history. Oklahoman's don't exactly understand the concept of honor and fair play.

  • a lot of people voted yes for that shit. bob barr is one of the few who stood up and said "hey! we didn't vote for this so you can abuse it. we were lied to." and has worked ever since for it's repeal. i don't much care of the constitution party. to much religion and referring to our "creator" in all of their ideals. and their website kinda stinks.

  • Thats why I take the bus...

  • McCain and Obama are considered "mainstream" and Barr is considered "fringe."

God hates America, America is doomed.

  • God Doesn't Hate.

  • He hates sin, but he loves people.

  • sin is what makes us human

  • No, we were human before sin entered. Sin is what makes us fallen humans. Christ's sacrifice restores us. But then this discussion is way off topic from the video.

  • So you believe in a talking snake?

  • I believe in the supernatural, which includes things that seemingly can't be explained by our human understanding. Whether or not there was a literal talking snake or not is moot. The book of Genesis uses a combination of narrative and figurative language. I'm not one who reads every word of the Bible as "literal" because it contains many kinds of literary styles.

  • Me too. I mean, I have my own beliefs, but I don't believe everything in the bible is literal.

  • Exactly even in Hosea God said I spake through the ministry of the prophets and have used "similitudes". Though something can be literally spiritual ;P

  • Well said.

  • Does Congressman Barr support the privatization of airport security?

Or put another way, How does he view this matter from the perspective of private property rights? Should the airlines, as private businesses, be responsible for protecting their passengers, rather than the federal government?

  • Yes, Libertarians believe that private businesses should provide security for their customers. Customers will be able to choose the amount of security they will pay for by which company they patronize. Right now everyone pays for the security unless they own their plane. Some airports are better than others.

  • Well said. But is that Barr's position on the matter?
