  • Thanks for making this video on my dual rec i keep both the knobs at normal because im not 100% sure what to do with them for a delay im using a boss digital delay yet with a parrellel loop i knotice that the

  • Det er så nemt at høre han er dansker ;)

  • My G Major doesn't have the kill dry setting and I am using it in parallel in a loop ( and hating what it is doing to my tone). I know there is a software update for the G major but it seems only to be for a windows PC and you also need a midi interface from the computer - I use a Mac and dont have a midi interface - any way I could update my unit or do I need to get a G Major 2?

  • Thank you soooooooooo much for the part 1-2 video!!!! my mesa triple rec is a monster now!

  • Nice comments - thanx! This is one of the topics we get many questions about! - You shouldn't think of clean and distorted sounds as two things. As soon as you a pass signal through a digital effect a VERY small delay is introduced due to converters. On TC effects not more than moving your head about 3 feet from the speaker, - but if the effect is placed in a parallel loop (or not 100% serial), the speaker plays both the unprocessed/undelayed signal along the processed giving the "flange sound"

  • dude this video helped so much, I had never got the idea what's the difference between them. Thanks!

Btw, which one works better with distortion?

  • this video is gold..

just wish it was a 5150 + used so i can get my head around mine..

  • square head

  • Thank you for the demonstration. Based on what is being stated, it seems that a distortion effect would have the greatest effect and results on a Serial Loop. Is this true? In other words, the Serial loop is best for distortion effects.

  • Does the nova system have a killdry effect?

  • Turn down boost the send and mix levels, and you should be cooking, even if it's a parallel loop, as the wet signal will have more priority than the dry. However, you will need to have a volume boost on the Tc when the effect is switched out as otherwise you may get a volume drop.

On a Mesa, you could use the solo pedal to reduce the volume so that when you flick the effect in, and get a volume boost, you can drop the volume with the mesa footpedal.

    HTH.

  • Duh, I mean boost the send and mix levels.

  • If you turn the mix on a parallel loop to 100% wet, will it essentially be the same as the serial loop?

  • If it's 100%, then yes.

  • not necessarily. If it is still a parallel loop you are getting a dry signal running 'parallel' with a wet signal. Some amps may mix well with others when turned to 100% in the mix and some dont play so nicely.....I found that out the hard way :) Bottom line is the Gsystem (I am only referring to this unit because I own it) does not sound great because of the loop. But with some new firmware on the TC side it may take care of the issue (as noted in the video) good luck

  • correction....I dont mean the Gsystem loop (above)...I mean the loop in my amp. Sorry

  • If there is still dry signal comming through it's not 100% wet.

  • so if i run in the front ????

  • Good video for understanding the differences between series or parallel......BUT, alot of us would have like to have seen you using the Gsystem in both of those scenarios. I have the Gsystem and the MESA Triple rectifier and because of the loop I had it modified. I am now searching for another head with a true serial loop in order to use my Gsystem.

  • Hi My friend, Contact to tc electronic there is a new firmware in beta testing, where they add KillDry signal to the G-System, Now I am whith this new firmaware and it works Greate!

  • Thanks....I am on the TCforum boards and am aware of the firmware beta testing for 4.02. I just sent in my email to receive the beta firmware. I hope this killdry change is what I am after to help me out!! Thanks

  • how about turning the mix knob on dual recto to the max position? does it make it closer to the serial loop in use with signal regulating effects?
