The Citgo was in Knoxville Tennessee. Dad was a pure blooded FORD man, and loved to drag race. I remember one of the cars he ordered new was a '63 "R" code 427 8 barrel 4 speed Galaxie. He used to have to take me out for a ride every night to get me to go to sleep. Even though I was only 2 years old, I already loved American Muscle:) He loved bangin' through the gears because it made me laugh. I still have people come up every so often and tell me stories about how bad my dad's cars were.
Absolutely awesome car!! Makes me feel like cryin' because I had one that looked just like it in '78. Mine had the 396/375 four speed posi. My dad surprised me with it on my 16th birthday....it was my first car. He owned a Citgo, so I got all the high octane I could burn for free! He built it out the ass using everything but the kitchen sink. Today's import drivers would #&%@ in their pants if they rode your beauty through the 1/4 mile. Ah....memories. Sniff.....sniff. Thanks Dad....miss ya:)
