I know the rzr xp has a better suspension than the commander x but I'd have to say that's about the only real benefit with the rzr. The commander is set up so much nicer for rider comfort and much more user friendly.

8050 RPM should be over 80 MPH

Shaving a bit of wheel spin power off the bottom wouldn't hurt, to add some more top end.

At the highest RPM the power band dropped fast anyhow. Looked like it pulled good between roughly 6400---7800.

The CVT gave all it had, so I think  it needs a gear change.

@solidsnake123 check out joyner side x sides. i test drove the 650. I was very impressed with the build and quality of the machine. It was a 4spd manual, with 650 inline-2, 4wd, with winch and stereo.

Does that subscribe to the "drive like you stole it "mantra or the "break it in the same way you’ll be driving it" school of thought? A full speed run at 7.2 hours on the clock, I suspect CanAm’s owners manual suggests a method other than red lining it at 8k rpm to break it in.

my outlander 650 did 73 top speed, with regular gas, 85 mph with 91 octane, and my ds 450 does 83 with 91 octane as well, but stock from the factory, I believe can am is trying to govern there speed to a top of 70, from 70 -73 its a long weight, with my outlander 650 and my buddys 800 and 500... this vid did not surprise me, but the 0-60 of the machine is amazing!

I have a suggestion. Jack up the commander and check how easy or hard the wheels spin by hand. Disk brake drag has been harsh on a few of my ATV's.

Little backing off is all it took. Then do a top speed time check.

Of course it may already have good free wheel spin......
