So how does someone know when to use the at-tanween rather than to put an actual n (noon). Just if it is a consonant, vowel, consonant at the end and the last consonant is a noon?
at-tanween is used only with "ambiguous*" nouns and only at the end of the noun. never used anywhere else.
if u see tanween at the end of a word, that word is a noun 100%
* what I mean about ambiguous is a noun that is not preceded by a definite article.. i.e in english "a pen" or "a book" but not "the pen" or "the book"
