wow... i doubt it was a eye-gouge, but definitely unnecessary. I'm a huge Clemson fan, and agree that at the very least, it should've been a penalty. The speed with which it happened and the position of the hands seems to show that his fingers weren't in the helmet. But still... what a retarded play. The play isn't over until the whistle blows so I'm not quite sure what your are saying. There doesn't exist a still image that can show his fingers reaching through the facemask. You are drawing a conclusion without actual photographic evidence that shows fingers reaching through. I've seen the blown up still shot with which you refer and it doesn't back up your claim. More than likely the Clemson player is pulling on the facemask. Again, this is a face mask penalty during the play.

with his left hand, yes he is clearly pulling up. its his right hand that people are talking about. its not clear at all, but you can't cay definitively that its not. his hands clearly go to the face in an attempt to harm, he should receive the same punishment spikes did. And even if it was "during the play", its away from the ball. no reason for him to be messing with him at all.

it's not a face mask penalty.....the play is over. it's a personal foul......and there is a still image that demonstrates beyond any doubt that the four fingers on his right hand are poked into the kid's face mask. he may be "pulling back on his helmet" with his left hand, but he comes from underneath with his right hand.

99 filled the gap where the play was suppose to go. He forced the RB to juke thus causing him to fumble. I would not call this "working him over."

Trust me, that play is not going in #99s highlight reel. Hudson was much stronger coming off the line and then promptly deposited him on his ass. Anytime a d-lineman is picking himself up off the ground its not a good thing.
