Kids compare Kobe because he immitates the way MJ moved on the court. (and fails) Also because they've never seen REAL basketball pre-2000. They grew up with this sissy NBA of today.
It's so ironic actually, as Kobe is one of the most inconsistent players ever. NBA record 30 misses in a game. NBA record 100 misses in a series. NBA record most game winning misses. The only finals MVP in history to not shoot 50%. + Most of his 50+ games, he shoot below 50%.
this was almost 20 years ago- and these highlights still hold up today. if they were today- theyd still be top highlights of the year- he was truly ahead of his time. if you did the same thing in mjs era- grabbed highlights from 1970 and showed them to 90s fans- theyd look out of date. michaels game is truly eternal- he would have dominated ANY era.
It's almost as if there is no effort at all, it all just comes naturally to him. WOW, is all I can say when I see these highlights of Jordan. He's truly the BEST EVER!!!! BAR NONE.
as im reading the info above im thinkin to myself: WTF!!!??? what an extraordinary season even for a player like jordan, season-,finals-and all-star mvp,scoring-title,72-10 season etc.... hes simply the greatest ever!!! MJ=God(of B-Ball)
i know i hedged a little by putting lebron in at point, but id rather have him there than magic any day. also, no chance garnett gets in above duncan: how many times did the twolves beat the spurs in the late 90s/early 00's?
true, i appreciate your point about having a pure pg in the lineup with all of those other offensive weapons. two responses though: (1) lebron plays with a lot of characteristics of a good point guard (great ballhandling and passing, unselfish, and quick enough to break defenses down off the dribble); and (2) lebron would be more effective than magic at defending smaller, quicker guards like chris paul, isiah thomas, etc...
HAH! what an asshat (blackadam06). Love how so many people think they sound so smart when they do the sarcastic fanboy thing. you know what I'm talking about, "OBVIOUSLY (always starts with obviously) you dont know ____ about _____! " followed by a generic putdown using what they think is a sophisticated word, like "asanine" which is almost always misspelled-like icing on the cake. Seriously blackadam06, go eat a dick. dipshit LOL.
but try Penny Hardaway..youngin's don't remember he was just as good as MJ already in just his 3rd season. What could have been of Penny if it wasn't for the injured knees...
The season 1995/1996 was one of the greatest seasons MJ played. Not only was he still very quick and deadly, he also matured in his game compared to the early 1990's.
I love hearing kids today say that Kobe is the greatest ever. Doesn't that just kill you when you hear that? NO WAY. Jordan was just remarkable. G.O.A.T.
"In his first full season back from his first retirement, Jordan had another amazing year and was awarded the league MVP, Finals MVP, Allstar Game MVP, All-NBA First team, All-Defensive First team, led the league in Scoring, led the bulls to a record 72 wins and won his fourth championship"
Great stuff! His pass against the Sixers is one of the wildest he's ever done. I love the play against the Sonics..he gets the pass in the air goes around his back, lands, and then goes for the gorgeus layup, one of my fav moves ever. And of course those 2-handed slams he started to do when he came back..Those are a thing of beauty..
72 fucking wins the best team ever has to be 96 bulls but in my opinion its the 97 bulls
