Now I know about Curtain I don't want to read it ever. Oh, no. I want to think of him as alive, call me crazy. Why did she have to kill him, especially like that? Those writers, they develop most peculiar relationships with their heroes...
I read all Christies' books when I was a lad - some 30 years ago - and waited until this year to go through all her novels again. So, when I came to this one, from the beginning (where we find Hastings older and Poirot quite diminished) to the ending, I have been immensely moved. The death of Hercule - a dear friend of mine - has been a shock. I must confess that it made me really sad and that tears came to my eyes...
@SimSutcliff i actually cried too when i read this at the age of 18 or something, after reading the majority of her Poirot books. i've just went through it again, now at the age of 26... and after reaching the final lines, i couldn't avoid a sigh... Poirot is for life.
Wow 130 years old!

This is probably one of my very favourite Poirot books ever. I cried at the end but it was still amazing and I was happy that Hastings was in it.
