After rehearsing the blocking in our green screen studio we shot Santa in HD, taking care to match lighting, camera angles and camera movement. Once we completed keying the Santa footage we used Adobe Photoshop to recreate parts of the background and composite out Neo in After Effects. Using motion tracking, time remapping, animated masks and a few other visual effects in AE we were able to match camera movement, remove Neo and have Santa interact with the environment.
