Isn't the cowboy a take-off off the Mexican ranchero and also related to the gauchos and others on the plains of Brazil and Argentina. I don't think it is quite close to dying in the Americas; maybe in the lower 48.

Actually, I think that the Mexicans most likely got the 'cowboy' or 'gaucho' idea from the Americans. I've never seen a cowboy tote'n a bolo! And, to the best of my knowledge, the guns the Mexicans carried were American arms. I think matthighlife is right...ya' just need to head south!

The western life was once a life of serenity and peace. It wasn't so much like the western movies make it to be.

The Lakota Indians have declared independence from the USA and I hope there won't be any interference by the USA. That makes the Lakota Nation the most free nation in the World, for now. They live in poverty for the most part but they have peace.
