  • Epic Bass from Roger! Play it Loud!

  • Time for all the "ROCK BANDSSSS OH HHH My GODDYEAAAEAHHH" to put on there big old rock pants and teach the guitar player to WWHHHAAALE.For shame on our rock bands of today I need some real experiences to relate to and a little bit of song structure would be a welcome change from the Rape of the "TYRANNY OF 4" One note from Ritchey's little toe.. prove me wrong.

  • I used to love John Bonham but now Ian Paice is a close second

  • When I first heard this song, I came.

  • the theme song for so many lives........

  • The voice here is definitely stunning ! Maybe the best ever. 5 hard cocks playing the best hard rock !!!

  • I was in the bath romm dmaking shit when I first heard this song!

  • @anhedonian That was maybe a little too much information...

  • I remember this song very well just before i committed suicide

    I was in my führer bunker together with my sweetheart Eva Braun and then through time and space I heard this song and i heard Ian Gillan sing;

'No one came from miles around

    And said man who's he?'

Well that really was too much for me and I pulled the trigger

So now you know what made me decide to end my life

  • @qzt39kd No kidding, this album and Absolutely The Best by Big Bill Broonzy were intended to be the last two albums I would ever hear before dying. Problem is vodka and sleeping pills will make you pass out or fall asleep before a lethal dose is delivered.

  • @kanshou

We agree this song and the album 'Fireball' are epic, but let me give you a little wisdom: when you think everything is useless, than you must admit that even committing suicide is useless...just keep on living 'till death do us part.

  • They didn't play it in live because Steve Morse never could play like Blackmore...

  • @ThePsychopatrick They are playing it live on the tour they are doing now.

  • @ThePsychopatrick thay are playing it now XD

  • Saw 'em two weeks back at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. Just tremendous! Full orchestra. I wasn't familiar w. this tune and just loved it when I heard it. Great kick-ass tune.

  • its funny how the lyrics to this, no no no and fools spell out what they mean in black & white and slill no one came to realize what hes trying to tell us

  • Just saw the band at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario, Canada. I've been to see the band half a dozen times over the years and finally got to see them perform this song live. Wow. Ian Paice and Roger Glover still drive the band. Steve Morse and Don Airy look and sound like they have always been there. Ian Gillan continues to deliver great vocals, minus some of the higher register screams. If you can catch them on their current tour, do it!

  • Saw em in 74 wit BLACKMORE, man,,, FUNKY aint da word for it. it ruled!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kinda cool with the backwards piano in the end! (5:40 > 6:25)

    Another lovely DP song.

  • BESTTTTTTTTT :)

  • That organ solo is mind blowing!!!

  • think of this song next time you see some old freaky looking person on the street.

    a story for the ages.

  • I likey this song alot! You, you know what, what I mean.

  • thx shotguy No one :-)

  • By far the best tune on this otherwise spotty album. I disagree with everyone who thinks this record is the best of the DP catalog. In Rock, Machine Head, Made In Japan -- all better. Even Who Do We Think We Are gives Fireball a run for its money. BUT, this song is a gem. A razor. When I was a kid, I bought Fireball just for this song. Peace y'all. Have a good time!!

  • This entire song seems to have the exact rhythm of a highly skilled pro basketball player's dribble moves, just bouncing around with confidence, everywhere it goes, as an entire band. I believe Ian Paice had more control than most people think. Ritchie Blackmore knew he had a good drummer and never let him go.

One of the best DP tunes, and vastly underrated.

  • I feel so much pleasure with this song that i could almost cry

  • Awesome!~!

  • My very first Deep Purple LP. Played it endlessly back int the day.

Picking their best lps is nuts - so here goes.

If you could only take 3 then

    In Rock

    Fireball

Who Do We Think We Are

I know, no Machine Head or Live In Japan or......

That's what made them so great. Endless possiblities.

BTW - check out Captain Beyond's first lp. They remind me of DP.

  • Haven't heard this song in years, thas why I love my XM Sat radio, this is the first live show i saw in 72 at the Sunshine Inn in Asbury Park,NJ,,,,, J.Giels Band, Full House tour the next weekend at Convention Hall,,,, the next years were a blurr

  • man, your music is really funky 2:03 - 3:08

this is my fave dp song

  • FFFfunky Purple!

  • Bas line is insane.

  • "The money's good, the times you have, fun and games galore, but you spend your money and lie in bed forgotten - and wonder what you did it for." Epic.

  • This is one throbbin' mofo! A very good reason to have a powerful stereo, to really be able to appreciate what a fine job of production was done here- all the fades and level changes really stand out at excessive volume, and you can hear Blackmore's guitar and Lord's keyboard sliding all over the place. This is top shelf Deep Purple. Still have the LP from back in the Stone Age.

  • One of the best rock songs ever made. Like Flight of the Rat, Highway Star etc.

  • Deep Purple has play this song 05.6.2010 in Croatia,Zagreb...The live performance sound amazing....

  • RTock on Deep Purple!

  • Has anyone else actually noticed the apparently unrelated underlying organ melody in this song? You can only really follow it if you don't pay attention to the rest of the music, it is very soft and seems to go against the rhythm and chord progrssions of the song. Very weird, but very cool.

  • @hitmansnightmare are you talking about the insturmental at the end of the song? I think I heard something there(reminded me of a bit of sargent pepper) Or is this happening throught the whole song?

  • @hitmansnightmare Deep Purple offen did that with their music back then.

l have a dvd and they admitted themselves, that Blackmore, Paice Lord , and Glover always tried to out do each other, sometimes drifting away from the main chords of the songs. Well picked up dude, its one of their best songs i think.

This is one reason why i rate Deep Purple as one of the best bands in the history of rock.

  • @hitmansnightmare theys some ,,backwards recording goin on here too, jon an ritchies rythm is way cool, an love that strat an those way powerful marshalls,,not too fuzzy,,just a lotta gain,,ritchie knows his stuff..

  • FireBall & MachineHead were my Favorite ...Blackmore is one the most under-rated guitarist around

  • Souvenir du concert de l'Olympia dans les années '90 (dernier concert avant que l'Olympia soit entièrement refait...) concert publié par le groupe... le final de No one came au stromboscope ! énorme !

  • @poppydoux

the one on olympia is the best version ever in my opinion...

  • What a Band,One Fine Song!!!!!

  • the greatest band on earth!

  • Where's my Robin Hood outfit????????;)

  • I love it!!!!

  • just absolutely love this!

    coraclewoman

  • The best band ever.

  • this is really good!!!!!!!

  • please keep this version on u tube, junk the live versions.

  • 'Fireball' great album!

  • fucing greatest song ever

  • one of my favorites from my favorite band of all time, blackmore is untouchable,,period, my favorite album is,,made in japan,,love hiway star,,lazy,, space truckin,,o man, aint no music talent like this anymore,, no one can even come close to jon lord,,an especially ritchie, man the sounds he gets from that strat,,or the old days, the gibson335 even,, hendrix i love, but is a joke compared to ritchie,,..

  • Re: flyfish777: Hendrix recorded in the 60's.How could that sound compare to anything later with better engineering and to top it off,Hendrix had a hard time at recording.Read Jimi Hendrix Sessions : The Complete Studio Recording Sessions 1963-1970 by John McDermott, Billy Cox and Eddie Kramer. I love both players but both have their own uniqueness,so please don't put one down because of sound.Thanks.

  • gr8test!

  • This WAS done live, several times. Unfortunately, the videos from those performances were pulled off youtube.

  • They have been playing No One Came live since 92. Yeah. Probably not born yet. But if you meant they never played this live on the fireball tour. In 72. Then you are correct.

  • they played in 71 at bbc

  • @shotguy1 No, they played it at Camden in 71...but the audience not like it.

    Stupid audience!

  • o yes they did, house of blues in atlanta, december 1997, not bad,, but without blackmore, the greatest guitarist in history,, it was fair though,,,,

  • Tunggung!

  • A little bit of history. In the U. S., the first 2 Deep Purple albums were on Tetragrammaton Records, a label started by Bill Cosby.

  • @mycroft51

The 3rd album..titled Deep Purple..was also on Tetragrammaton as well..in USA.

    Harvest in UK

  • Absolutely one of my Purple favourites. Funky!!! :)

  • Fantastic song, I love the entire album and this is by far my favored song.

My kid asked me if Ian is singing RAP, well the first RAP :-)

  • Obviously the best song ever made.

Sure would like to see a live performance.

  • i saw a deep purple concert 1 month ago but they didn't play that :(

  • I saw them (Mark II) in '84 and '85.

They didn't do this one but we got Difficult to Cure.

  • @shotguy1 i ben listenin to this since 1971,,man listen to ritchies rythm,,outta site,,best guitarist in history easily,,,

  • @shotguy1 I saw them today and they did :)

  • @laronis Good song, but far from the best ever made...

  • @laronis I have always said the same thing... best rock song ever made.

  • @laronis I was at the Deep Purple show tonight in Vegas, and much to my surprise, they played this!

  • @ttc817

You always remember where you were when you first heard certain songs (Led Zeppelin One, In-A-Gadda Da-Vida, The Pusher, etc.). I will never forget when I first heard this song, it just blew me away.

I currently listen to old and new music, but no song have I played anywhere near as much as this song. And I like it as much today as 40 years ago.

  • I've seen them in KY.about three yrs ago.So they do still tour.Keep ur ears open.

  • Ez az igazi!

  • azzzz :D
