It's not a Golf anymore. Horsepower or PS would depend greatly on the amount of boost being run, 2.5-3.0 Bar and the ecu/map being used would account for the differing estimations on power. Estimations of over 1000PS at 3bar are possible but who knows/cares, it's got lots. It's amazing because it is essentially 80's technology. The parts this guy used are virtually unobtainable unless you know someone from the old racing program. The motor is great but look at the drivetrain parts.

Your both stupid it's actually the same motor that was used in audi's old groupe B quattro s1 ra;;y car. Only now it has anti-lag turbo's better fuel pump etc, etc. There was also an article about this in Eurotuner magazine explaining the car's engine.

All i was saying is that since he uses awesome parts, he probably didn't have to limit the power output to much to get it registered. And 500 Hp is plenty for road usage, even on swedish roads:))

the fact is custom parts...like custom profiled camshafts, special pistons and connecting rods, rebuilt oilsystem, the right kind ov turbocharger and so on...and of cause lots of experience.
just search for "gatebil" and you will know what i'm talking about...there are lots of such maniacs here in Norway and in Sweeden :)
Incredible car, but it's kind of hard to call it a Golf. I mean, it has a Golf body, but it's got a tube steel frame and an Audi linline-5. Still, an awesome car. I'll take two!
