@Maccatn2 In the 17th to 19th centuries being fat was attractive as it was an indicator of one's wealth.  Hard to be fat during a depression. Also when you say fat,would you consider your typical Samoan a fattie? They're big boned people, most would definitely be considered overweight yet they all look the same, could be something in their genetics and lack of cross breeding (it's a very remote island, few visitors and few make it off the island).
