@jaykzlolol I am aware that hps systems yield more. I can't afford all the ventilation and equipment, and I don't have the space for it. One of these days I will upgrade, when I can. And your comment about resin production is very much debatable.

@SnootyWimbledon Im not trying to come at you or anything because I too grew using CFL's only, then i upgraded to a 400 watt HPS refurbished system from HTG for $89.99!!! an upgraded bulb a month later and here i am, 100$ for a yield master II classic and some ducting now my room is 72/61 every day. And the only reason I bring up the resin is because I have a 12 day old NL x Skunk and it smells like serious dank just by having your nose over it. It's only on its 3rd node

But yeah, I actually started doing some research on an HPS system right after I read your comment last night xD And I am going to be upgrading on my next grow. But on the subject of resin production, I croped a purple erkle afew days back, And I can smell it from the other room. I'm not trying to one up you. I'm just saying T5s can produce some quality bud.

@SnootyWimbledon hey man those are some good looking plants i too use t5's start to finish people get on my case too but once they try my stuff and see my product they shut up i have gotten over 6oz off one plant plus using t5's does not increase your light bill very much but i haven't seen a change in mine so im saving that much more money i believe hps is over rated and i have grown with hps t5's and led so i know from experience

nice. I have a T5 too, gotta use it! $90 for a quad is bullshit, but pretty common. thats like 70-80 bucks profit for every quad sold, if not more than that. its why so many people sell pot and shrooms, gigantic profit margins.

ok thanks ,i never done indoor yet just lots of outdoor experience, but i have got 2 400 watt mh lying around, but i want to get a 1000 hps ,and was going to use only 1 400 mh for veg and 1000hps to flower, but since the fluros look so good here maybe ill use flouro for veg and bot just clones and try the 400 for flower,basically i want to replicate what some guy wrote into HT and said he setup,,he had 1 1000hp and 1 400 mh ,used 2 liter bottles ,had a ved & bud room same dimensions(forgot them

what do the 6500k and 3000k numbers mean?\what are t5's? fluorescent tubes? how long? 2' or 4' ?

@bulletproof2353 Those 2 numbers indicate light color, 6500k is very bright and whitish blue, while 3000k is very orange or yellow. And T5 is the bulb daiameter. T5s are skinny while T8s are thick and T12s even more so. And this is all pertaining to Fluorscent lamps. and I use a 4' fixture.

@MercerCam Fuck, thanks bro =D. My wattage is 216 and my lumens are 20,000, I believe that's similar to a 250 watt HPS. I mainly save on ventilation and all that extra shit that comes with HPS systems.

Would you reccomend a T5 for a closet grow versus a 250/400 HPS? Do you have any heat issues? How is the smell with your plants in bloom?

@kjr12341 I have never used an HPS system. I went with T5s because they are cheap, low wattage, and cool while still maintaining alot of lumens. I would be using HPS if I had a bigger area or an entire room to devote to my garden. I guess I would suggest the T5s for a closet, unless you can afford the ventillation for HPS. And the smell of your crop depends on ALOT of variables like the cultivar, your growing ablillity, the ambient environment just to name afew... Sorry I wrote a book... Im high

Been growing for about 40 years, but just been blown away by a friend whose16 yr old son rigged up a T.5 light set up. Kept the T.5's on for 24/0 beaming down on a row of "ROADRUNNER" auto seeds and in 9 weeks produced a wicked little harvest. He dried n cured the buds perfectly(A process often not done right even by so-called "experts") and with a dry yield of about 15 grams per plant with bud that kicked with a lovely aroma(A well timed flush) i realized that the new "AUTO AGE" is here!

@saywordson357 I grew mazar with a top drip hydro system and it took me 14-15 weeks from seed to bud then another few weeks for drying and curing. The bushiest plant I have ever seen and a nice smoke :)

@SpeciaEdu I just got a warehouse fixture off the internet. It is a 4 bulb fixture and It cost around $120 with shipping, I wanted the 6 bulb fixture which was 40$ more, but this fixture does a great job, if you know how to use it.
