The antenna is everything. Remember that old saying "Give me a $5 radio and a $995 antenna and I will play radio better than you with your $500 radio and $500 antenna". I have this exact model but only use about 60' of wire clipped to the whip and even that makes it do amazing things. There are some good programs on SW you just have to know when and where they are at on the dial.
