I was at the city by my town, and there was a protest against gay marriage at the capitol building. You know what I wanted to do? Scream at them. They are too disrespectful and close-minded that they don't understand how people are different for the greater good. My friend is gay, and I love her the same as anyone else. Actually it serves the purpose of protecting churches from government and to keep churches from pushing their agenda on others. It does work both ways. Voting on minority rights is nothing to puff up your chest about, it only shows how occasionally hate sneaks onto the ballot and reminds us why we have courts and a system of checks and balances. You won by a mere majority, by 8 points, that's not overwhelming, that's more like a margin of error. Keep up with the trial, read the transcripts.
These ads are pure sensationalist crap. Saying that Gays don't have the right to marriage based on hate. We don't want morals to degrade is why we don't allow them to marry. I have friends that are gay, so its clear that I don't hate them, but I do think they're misguided. Just like all humans are. I suggested the establishing of another legal form of marriage that addressed the issues of homosexual people and over and over again I have been met with great resistance. To not even entertain this idea positively shows there is more on the agenda than just marriage. I believe It's an attack on the Godly and true form of marriage by those who are not willing to conform to anything. I do not hate anyone, especially gay people. I actually feel sorry for them. The reason I involve myself in this issue of gay marriage is because I've been married for 20 years. When my wife and I decided to get married we were living together. The reason we wanted to marry was to show the world we truly love each other in the honest and acceptable way it was set up to be, at least in our eyes. Now it seems our rights as being trampled by those who claim they stand for equal and fair rights.
It's quite alarming how the homosexuals believe they've found some form of, "loophole," or flaw in the American Constitution. The separation of church and state was not set up so gays could use it to push God out of everything THEY FEEL He shouldn't be a part of. The homosexuals do not seem to notice how they are trampling on the rights of those who have chose to be married in the natural way. Marriage between two men is no different than a marriage between a man and a woman. They both are built on commitment and love and offer joy, benefits, and stability to both the couple and any children they raise.
I would love to see these same people explain to a gymnasium of children how homosexual men have sex. With their limited knowledge, these children could pose questions that none of these people could answer without stepping outside of everything normal or NATURAL.
In that same atmosphere one could explain how a man and woman have sex because it's natural and it's how HUMANS reproduce, which is the main reason for the act of sex. Homosexuals want to make it a GOD thing when it's a nature thing.
Gay sex is quite natural and enjoyable. If it wasn't, people wouldn't do it. Those children would be able to handle an explanation better than you it seems!

Why would you want gay marriage anyway when it is a religious gesture set up by religions that think if you're gay you should go to Hell? There is no substantive difference that bars women from voting. These things have noting to do with gay marriage. Preexisting notions of equality...we have in the U.S. Constitution something called the Equal Protection Clause that says that no state shall deny its citizens equal protection of the laws. Gays do not have the equal right to marry in this country. Either remove marriage powers from the state and give everyone civil unions or allow gays and lesbians to marry. Those are the only remedies.
These are not "ill comparisons." They are all instances where people have not been treated equally.
There you go again assuming gays have a right to change the definition of marriage for everyone else. Gays already have equal rights to marriage like everyone else. Gays don't have right to change the definition of marriage just like no one else have the right to change the definition of marriage to their subjective wishes. That's equality.
Nobody is changing your actual marriage! It bothers you that much to share an institution with gays and lesbians? Are we that inferior that it degrades the whole institution to have us involved? I was at the city by my town, and there was a protest against gay marriage at the capitol building. You know what I wanted to do? Scream at them. They are too disrespectful and close-minded that they don't understand how people are different for the greater good. My friend is gay, and I love her the same as anyone else. Actually it serves the purpose of protecting churches from government and to keep churches from pushing their agenda on others. It does work both ways. Voting on minority rights is nothing to puff up your chest about, it only shows how occasionally hate sneaks onto the ballot and reminds us why we have courts and a system of checks and balances. You won by a mere majority, by 8 points, that's not overwhelming, that's more like a margin of error. Keep up with the trial, read the transcripts.

Sometimes what feels right *is* right. A clear wrong is what happened to the woman in Florida when she had an aneurysm and was denied her partner and children coming to see her before she died. Had they been married, that would not have happened. This isn't about a word, it is about being heard. Knowing you have gay friends who you would not step up for only shows that you do not understand the importance of it to many couples.

I do not hate anyone, especially gay people. I actually feel sorry for them. The reason I involve myself in this issue of gay marriage is because I've been married for 20 years. When my wife and I decided to get married we were living together. The reason we wanted to marry was to show the world we truly love each other in the honest and acceptable way it was set up to be, at least in our eyes. The homosexuals are forever crying about their rights, what about the RIGHTS of those who chose to be married in the natural or normal way? To change the meaning of marriage to include unnatural acts like homosexuality would be tragic. Marriage, in the hearts of most, is continuing the Godly seed or to simply say I'm not gay. I don't understand why gays don't create their own form of marriage that caters to their lifestyles. I believe it's an attack on the beauty of marriage by sick people.

I was raised as a strict mormom and married a rabbi and we don't take the bible as WORD: we believe that love is love no matter what the religious differences are, and that if pig-headed people don't trust their inner instincts themselves so much that they take the written bible as LAW, of course they are going to hate gay couples ... they frickin hate themselves!

Misery loves company .... this old saying stands true today. I believe homosexual people are miserable and so they want everyone else to be miserable as well. If you voted yes on prop 8, then, even if you didn't mean to, you are supressing people's rights. If you think that marriage should be with someone of the opposite gender, then voting yes on 8 is forcing them to take your views. I think that people should be able to live by their values, but others should be able to live by thiers, even if theirs don't agree with the first person's.

I would love to see these same people explain to a gymnasium of children how homosexual men have sex. With their limited knowledge, these children could pose questions that none of these people could answer without stepping outside of everything normal or NATURAL.
In that same atmosphere one could explain how a man and woman have sex because it's natural and it's how HUMANS reproduce, which is the main reason for the act of sex. Homosexuals want to make it a GOD thing when it's a nature thing.

Why would you want gay marriage anyway when it is a religious gesture set up by religions that think if you're gay you should go to Hell? The majority of Americans didn't agree with interracial marriage or the end to segregation. Women weren't given the right to vote until 1920. Didn't make any of that right.
My church actually marries its gay and lesbian congregants and has done for years. I hpe to be one of them in coming years. It would be nice if the state would recognize that.

Majority of Americans in the south didn't agree with interracial marriage. Denying women's right to vote was a violation of preexisting notions of equality and sufferage. There is no substantive difference that bars women from voting. These things have noting to do with gay marriage. Preexisting notions of equality...we have in the U.S. Constitution something called the Equal Protection Clause that says that no state shall deny its citizens equal protection of the laws. Gays do not have the equal right to marry in this country. Either remove marriage powers from the state and give everyone civil unions or allow gays and lesbians to marry. Those are the only remedies.
These are not "ill comparisons." They are all instances where people have not been treated equally.

It's not up to you, me or anyone else how a marriage will be effected or not. That's between the husband and the wife. And there is nothing to share. Everyone is free to marry. That right already exists. What you want is a special priviledge that no one else has to change the definition of marriage to your whim.
