  • The world wouldn't be the same if Johnny was never found. Thank you Sunny Phillips for sticking your neck out

  • I just finished Rosanne's Autobiography "Composed". Like her dad, a great singer/songwriter. I especially love their shared laugh at the end of this lovely duet, very sweet.

  • Johnny was Scots-Irish and greatly missed here in Ulster!

  • johnny cash. R.I.P forever a legend

  • read more about mountain top removal and check out the article Mountains Here One Second, Gone the Next at brightsidenews.us/2011/08/26/mountains-here-one-second-gone-the-next/

  • RIP my friend Johnny Cash.. You are missed.

  • What a voice he never lost it did he almost made me cry cry cry, johnny is the man and always will be

  • this man is so inspirational .. such a voice that always beautiful an such a spirit an strong personality an humanity that always shined through

  • makes me wana cry so dam good

  • oh... i had to cry

  • We will never forget you, Johnny.May you and June rest in peace...forever together.

  • One of my favorite artists ever. I never forget,- I shook his hand on a concert in 1980 in Berlin. Wow!

  • He was a living Legend and he are a LEGEND forever ! Thank god for his music !

  • awesome

  • Wow, thank you for this awesome post

  • what is the name of the song that is playing in the background

  • @zasalamel246

Wildwood Flower. The Carter Family sung it a lot.

  • @RDarth Well after all, they did write it. lol

  • I'll bet he was thinking about June when he was singing this.

  • what a fucking STAR!!!!!

  • I idolized Johnny Cash all of my life, he was a hero to me and always will be. It is hard to look at him in this condition, and to know that this great man who cared so much for his art, his fans, and for all people in general suffered like this. He went almost blind, lost the use of his legs and suffered horrible pain. When some people would be feeling sorry for themselves Johnny Cash was thankful, and his faith never wavered- what has happened to people like this? Love you Johnny...R.I.P!!!

  • Johnny cash will always be remembered for his soulful music and the way he all teached us to love one another!!!

  • you know what will be sad? When we all die, and no one was around to talk about Johnny Cash anymore.. What if he actually does get forgotten?

  • @klipsferens yo descubri a Johnny cash sola hace apenas seis meses y realmente es increible y jamás lo olvidaré, el no será jamás olvidado es eterno.

  • @klipsferens he won't be the first. am certain hundreds of years ago, in some far away time, there was a man, probably many beyond numbers, whose generation loved and admired him as much as we admire Johnny today. if this world should still be around another hundred years or more, he too, like most everyone else will be forgotten too. doesn't mean we can't be thankful to have lived in the generation that saw his star shine.

  • @klipsferens im 22 now i have been a cash fan since i heard hurt back in 2003 but its the last 2 or 3 years i have become more then a fan to a insane level, and i cant imagine life without johnny cash, as long as music hangs around the man in black will be at the front of the line!

  • he is the greatest singer song writer of all time.

  • I never got to see Johnny cash in person. But his insperation has help me turn my life around.some day I will get to meet you on the other side God Bless you John

  • LOL has johnny cash got irish blood in him LOL Ireland Loves the man in black. R.I.P from Dublin

  • what is the song in the begining of the video? it was in "walk the line", i think! June was singing it at the awards i think! may some one please tell me?!

  • @XXashleyXlovesXyouX it sounds a lot like "wildwood flower" by the carter family which you can find on youtube. i have a song called "maybelle´s flower" in one of my guitar books which is titled as a homage to this track; but this "homage" sounds exactly like the track in this vid above. The Homage on the other hand is based on a saloon track called "the pale amaranthus" from the 19th century. So i think one of the three titles may satisfied you :)

  • @XXashleyXlovesXyouX The song's called Wildwood Flower.

  • like mizz77anna, I nearly cry by seeing this !! His passion for music never stopped !

    Love from France

  • This brings tears to my eyes He seemed so lost without his June !

  • when is this from?

  • john wayne,american cowboy. john r. cash,american music legend.

  • i miss johnny cash for my own selfish easons.. my daddy met him in the 60's and listening to him brings my dad c;ose to me..

  • Tis the wonder of music. Time just disappears.

  • :-( I Miss Johnny Cash !!

It Makes Me Sad To See This .

But Sooner Or Later We Die ....

R.I.P. JOHNNY CASH AND JUNE CARTER

  • I miss John and June so so much

  • wow, amazing

  • I LOVE IT ♥ I LOVE THE SONG ♥ I LOVE THE MAN ♥ ♪♫ ~~~ Mike,Dublin,Ireland ♣

  • God Bless Appalachia

  • so sad you could see him starting to fail

  • they are so cute singin' together. johnny cash a true legend.

  • May God bless you for your positive influence that has soaked into my conscience and has strengthened my bones.

I was fourteen the time I first heard "A Boy Named Sue" It was on an eight track. One day my Step-Dad popped it in the player, from that moment on, I knew you were different.

  • Miss you Johnny !

  • When was this filmed?

  • She's got a great voice herself.

  • fucking legened........... RIP

  • What a voice he had..:)

    R.I.P. old jesus lover... :P

  • he looks really sick here :'(

    R.I.P Johnny Cash <3

  • That is tear jerking!!!!!

    oxoxoxox

  • Johnny Cash is up there with the Greats - the Rembrandts Mozarts and Shakespeares.

He reached out to more folk than all of them put together. Best Artist ever, I'd say.

    Long Live Johnny Cash.

    R.I.P

    From Alan, one you inspired.

  • why do you have to lie?

  • best singer ever in the world

  • Dear Johnny Cash. The Greatest ever.

R.I.P. May joy be with you always.

    Alan, from Wales, U.K.

  • he actually looks sick here RIP

  • This is a really cool song. Just about every time i see a Johnny Cash biography or clips of him on TV it reminds me of my grand parents. Not because he looks old in this clip but they use to be big fans of his music back in the 50's and 60's. They are deceased now so hearing Cash brings back memories of me being a kid and hanging out at their house in Austin,Texas back in early 90's.

  • where can i find the rest of this?

  • It's a PBS special, part of the American Experience Series. You can find it on-line. And do find it, it's worth remembering that America has a proud history not a shamful one!!

  • It`s clear in this clip the Great Cash is failing here. Can only thank him for wanting to sing and film right till the end.

One of the last real men who did things his way in a time that wanted to control.

    RIP Johnny boy

  • he is a legend.

the song "hurt" is so emotional when you see him in the music video.

    rest in peace

  • yeah he's my favourite music artist of all time, i'm reading his auto biography cash, it's great really interesting and i feel like i'm getting to know my favourite artist as a person great man god bless him rest in peace johnny cash :)

  • Wow! It's amazing to me (apart from what every one else has said here)-- listen to how great he sounds in what looks like a living room or something. Most vocalists need whatever "optimal" acoustic environments, expensive microphones positioned *just so* to even sound like *themselves*. Mr. Cash could've sang somewhere in the desert and it would not have mattered.

  • Miss you JC, See you soon...always remembered never forgotten....x

  • Johnny sings in heaven now R.I.P

  • Their two little laughs at the end... sooo sweet

  • OMG That was soooo great

  • Oh my god This is simply one of the most emotional thing i've ever seen........

  • he's so greay, LEGEND.

  • looks like he was near death

  • he will forever be a legend. rest in peace Johnny

  • makes me cry to see his weakness, but then there come tears of joy, because there´s some kind of freedom in his eyes when he´s singing, even when his eyes are closed.

as long as this man can still make me smile and cry, he´s not dead.

  • totally agree, can't wait to hang out with him in heaven.

  • well said!

  • it deppresses me to see my idol so old.........

  • They are LEGEND...

    All the respect

  • oh my god he's so old here, and still sounds good, it kinda freaked me out how old he looked

  • CASH AND CARTER ARE 1]

  • Legend

  • I was fortunate to work in Hendersonville, TN during Johnny and June's last few years. They came into work every week when health allowed just to talk to people. June surprised me that for a woman of 72 she had the skin of a 30 yr old. It was nice knowing you and God Speed....you may be gone but your legacy will always live on!

  • I hade the great honour of seeing the Great Man's show in Dublin 67/68 ? . Still talk about it To-day.

  • Still sounded great even at the end. The greatest country singer ever. Period.

  • JR isn't dead, he may have moved on with June

    But he ain't dead.

  • Absolutely amazing, I wish I had have been alive to see Johnny when he came to Ireland. Hes an amazing man. His legend lives on. :)

  • his voice was still so amazing...

  • I agree

  • Thank you so much... Irish eyes are a weeping now...

  • THE BEST>

  • :( Johnny

  • I cried through this because Johnny was getting so weak he could hardly sing :(

  • What a legend!

  • My mother was such a Johnny Cash fan. Shortly before her death last summer she told me he had gotten so old and ugly. Then when she passed I found myself getting into Johnny's music and when I watch this, I wish I could say to her......"I still see a beautfiul man, Mom". I miss them both.

And the name of the song played in the background at the beginning is Wildwood Flower made famous by the Carter family.

And Johnny's song 40 Shades of Green is beautiful as well.

  • hard for me to watch this its seem like his not all there

  • Beautiful! Look at the vid "last performances" someone posted. The most touching thing about JC on utube

  • how remarkable that the daughter sings so well too.

  • johnny cash is such a light emitting diode

  • why does she have 2 interrupt him with her singing

  • That's beautiful. It definitely fits with the documentary it's in about mountaintop removal. Everyone should be aware of this terrible practice that coal companies are somehow still allowed to do.

  • the song in the background is the song theyre talkin about, forty shades of green.

  • the song in the background is the song theyre talkin about, forty shades of green.

  • that's a cool song in the background at the beginning. what's the name of it? much appreciated if someone could help me out. thanks

  • @rocksquirrels the song is Wildwood Flower it's been done by many artists, one of the most notably the Carter family.

  • wow, I watch johnny cash videos on u tube every daya nd I never saw this one b4. this is so hauntingly beautiful. God bless Johnny Cash!

  • wow! gotta luv johnny! he looks so old and tired n then he starts singin and the man in black is BACK!

  • i like johnny cash's newer stuff better, when got realy old his vice got better, ni his newer stuff you can hear pain in his voice, its gives feeling to the song.
